Cusco Master Cylinder Brace???

Do any of you guys have any pics of the Cusco MC Brace on a DC??? Thinking about getting one, but I haven't seen any pics with any DC with it.

Do you guys think it is a waste of money???
Holla Back.

Thanks

I never understood the hype behind master cylinder braces. That said, I wanted to test it out firsthand as it is a cheap item.

I noticed no tangible difference on a car that is tracked heavily. I think those who notice big differences do not bleed their brake fluid nearly enough. I bleed the brakes at least once a month, since the car is tracked frequently.

Also, if you're not using race pads and race brake fluid, I wouldn't even begin to think about needing or wanting a master cylinder brace. Good brake pads and good fluid will make a noticeable difference. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

I am running EBC greenstuff brake pads, and I have clean brake fluid but like you said it is cheap part, so why not. I am a baller.

cheap? I have one on my car that a friend gave me for free. I'm not sure what kind it is, but I've seen it go for $75-$100 https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmileo.gif

I do know that the firewal flexes quite a bit during braking, and I noticed a slight difference when I first put it on, but I guess now I've gotten used to it.

I've also heard that under hard use like track conditions, the MC brace can actually cause suspension geometry to change as it will make the shock tower flex slightly instead of the firewall. Only what I've heard, though.

I have seen the firewall flex. I am sorry let me re=phrase that. I have seen the brake booster flex. Where does it exactly go? Do you have a pic of it on your car?

Should run some Castrol fluid ($70 a liter and only last 1 race) and mugen pads ($300/axle) , baller.

Yes I think for most purposes is a waste of money, but for the sake of JDMness, why not.

I watched a friend pump the brakes in his Civic once when we were bleeding the brakes, and I could definitely see the whole firewall immediately around the booster flexing as he pushed the pedal.

Try a good set of brake pads and get some good fluid. The pads you have at the moment are cheap, mediocre pads (odd, that a "baller" would use these pads). Try going with something like GT Sports from Cobalt Friction, for a street car that is tracked.

Also, since you didn't mention the type of fluid that you're using I'll assume that you're still using street type brake fluid. For fluid, I would recommend Castrol SRF or Endless RF-650. I have had good experiences with both fluids. They do cost more than other brake fluids, but that shouldn't be an issue for you.

What fluid and pads are you using?

Don't worry about the brake booster flexing, when you still have a lot of room for improvement with your brake pads and brake fluid.

The brake pads will make the most noticeable difference. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

AutoZone pads and rotors, and Valvoline SynPower fluid. My car is no longer tracked so no use spending extra money on high-performance stuff.

Like I said, I only put it on there because it was given to me for free.

Pretty soon your going to have people addressing brake pedal flex before tackling the obvious fluid and pads. lol

I am a baller, don't hate appreciate. Bunch of stiff asses, get your noses out of your own asses, jesus mary mother of god.

Well Like I said, I am running ebc greenstuff brake pads and normal brake fluid. I am not looking to hit up a track, I orginally asked where the damn cusco master brake cylinder brace went. Let me rephrase before I get my ass chewed out. Where does it bolt on to specifically???

But I got my answer already.

Thanks guys for your time.
Lighten the expletive up. You guys are about as stiff as a fucken dead squirrel.

I run brembo slotted (just slotted, not drilled) rotors, Goodridge stainless lines, and Hawk HP Plus pads. I can't see/feel a need for a MC brace. Maybe I am not running the best of equipment, but I think it will suffice for now.
