cooling fan/condenser fan problem
my fans have stopped working and im killing hoses like its cool. the car isn't overheating as long as i have plenty of fluid (going through that pretty quick too)
anyway iwanted to know if anyone has had this problem, i spent about two hours t/s yesterday and i have voltage everywhere i should, the fan switch is good, fuses and relay are good. the ground runs through the condenser fan relay (for radiator fan relay) but i can't find the condenser fan relay. please let me know where this relay is and if you have any ideas. oh btw, 94 ls auto

Re: cooling fan/condenser fan problem (.RJ)
i have been losing fluid from changing the hoses and when they blow. im killing hoses because the car is running hot but not overheating. the 9 year old hoses are failing from the added stress of running hot

Re: cooling fan/condenser fan problem (93preludevtec)
according to my shop manual..."on 1997 and earlier models, the condenser fan relay is mounted directly in front of the condenser on the driver's side of the engine compartment"
i was going to check it, but i'm pretty sure it requires me take my front bumper off...i'm too lazy to do that, but i know it's still good, because when i added refrigerant, both fans turned on

One thing to check and make sure of...
Please do this for me real quick.
Cool car.. open rad cap.. run car.... REV CAR.
If water shoots out of the cap (more than 1 foot in air) then you have a blown headgasket.
Air is getting into the cooling system..
???? HTH

Oh.. and I t hink the condenser fan only comes on when you are using AC.
That alone would not cause overheating.
Blowing hosed is rare....

Re: cooling fan/condenser fan problem (Chris)
the condenser fan isn,t coming on with a/c on. i was told by my mechanic the radiator fan pulls double duty, cooling until the second fan is needed. 2 years ago i had to replace the rad. fan motor because of a screeching bearing. and that fan came on when i turned on the a/c so i believe what he said. also i just got done looking at the wiring diagram again and i think the problem lies in the condenser fan relay or the a/c thermostat. still need to check these when i get off work.
i'm blowing hoses because the car is 9 yrs old and has been runnig hot for about two mths or so.
