Default Clutch Labor

How much should the labor cost on a clutch replacement on a 1998 GSR? I've gotten quotes at 600-700 dollars. Thanks in advance.

Anywhere from $250 on up to about $1100. I would say $450ish at a good shop (not a dealer, but a good shop). Theres no reason a tranny install should take longer then 5-6 hrs at $85/hr....and if you charge more then $85/hr then you should be able to do it in 2 or less.

i wouldn't pay more than $350. 600-700 is a major ripoff. an experienced shop will only take 2-3 hours to do it.

you'll find that it takes longer when its your full time job and not just a hobby.....and when you arent worried about getting it done asap/back on the road and have 6 hours estimated for you to get it done.

yeah, i was quoted $250 by my dads best friend who owns a shop specializing in japanese imports. I figured i'd save myself the cash and get a flywheel.
