Check Engine Light?

I did an oil change on my 97 RS today. After warming up, there was a check engine light. I pulled the code:
P0303--misfire cy 3
P0304--misfire cy 4
P1300--multiple cylinder misfire detected
P1399--???

what do I need to check? what caused the misfire?
The car is all stock. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks

Re: Check Engine Light? (SamC)

i think you might want to check the timing.

Re: Check Engine Light? (svtec)

change plugs, plu wires, cap and rotor, check timing, check fuel, those are some, but first rest ur ecu.

Re: Check Engine Light? (DRAG lll INTEGRA)

currently at 73k miles
major tune up at 65 kmiles: valve adjust, All belts, water pump, Cap, rotor, spark plugs...etc were done at that time (all stock parts)

plug wires were changed at 50k (autolite)--> could this be the problem?

reset ecu before changes?

go ahead and reset ur ecu, if thats not it get some oem wires, if thats notit then do a compression test.

Disconnect the negative cable for 10 mins and re-install https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Re: Check Engine Light? (4505)

I"ve changed the spark plugs today and add fuel treatment to clean the injectors..and then reset the ecu. I drove around and there are no codes now...I hope it's all fixed.

There are a little oil on the spark plugs and the tips are white...are they okay?

Re: Check Engine Light? (SamC)

Was the oil on the boot/wire side of the plug or on the firing tip/electode of the plug? If the oil was on the wire side, on the ends of the boots, it most likely got there due to a leak at the v/c orings. This most definately can cause your misfire codes previously mentioned. Replace those orings, replace those plug cables, prefererbly OEM, and plugs. The oil will contaminate all, and there's your source of voltage loss and readable missfire. White tips are fine on a plug, unless it is also badly glazed over(it would look shiny white, and usually have some burning right where the electode meets the porcelien). Now, if the oil you found on the plug was on the electode/firing tip, then we have other problems to discuss.

Re: Check Engine Light? (blueHwrench)

the oils were located at the threads, not on the tips. would it be the oil rings that are leaking?

I tried that and it didn't seem to work. The engine light comes back on after a few minutes of driving.

do you have a code reader? if you do, you can clear the code that way...

Well I took my car into Honda this morning to get my car on the Computer.
Turns out its my nox sensor. It's not even hooked up. When the car was up on the hoist u could see the cord just hanging there by the Oil Filter. The only problem is that there was no where to plug it in. Any insight as to what the heck is giong on! It stumped the Honda techs and still cost me $100 bucks.
