Characteristics of a bad water pump?
I think I have a bad water pump, but I'm wondering what are the signs that it's going bad? What happens is that after I've been driving for a while, and then stop at a light or something, the car will start overheating. When I stop the car the overfill resivour will be almost If I don't drive very much, it won't get hot or anything at a light. It will just stay near the lower middle. While I'm driving it will be fine. I'm pretty sure it's not the fans because they both kick on, the radiotor is less than a year old, and I don't think it's the thermastat since both radiator hoses get hotter than hell. Can someone tell me if this sounds like a bad water pump. I think it is because as soon as I hit the accelorator, it starts to go down. I think maybe it's worn down or something and that it can't move right under idle but it spins ok when the RPMs start going up. Anyone have an opinion?

I used to have a 94 ra teg. I did the same thing to me. The problem was the radiator. Is was a crusted green at the bottom and leaking. check little peep hole in the pump or remove the splash guard. Then check if it's leaking or your loosing coolant. GL Bye.
