car feels unstable.
I just installed brand new tein flex and front control arm with new bushings on my dc2. but when i take sharp turns the car wants to fishtail and overall cornering performance isn't as good as i expect. at some point, i think my car rides unstable. would alignment be a cause to that problem? plus i don't have a rear sway bar just a beaks lower tie bar.

Re: car feels unstable.
did you do any thing to the rear or just front shocks?
if you did do somthing to the rear make sure you put the correct springs on the rear as the front sprins are ment for the weight of the engine and if you have them on the rear it will be unstable in corners.
also try a lower setting on the dampeners if there adjustable.

Re: car feels unstable.
one of the bushings is torn and was making hella noise so i removed it. not sure about the specs on the alignment, but it was done one year ago. the front seems to be kinda off. i suspect alignment the most since it's the only thing that i haven't done yet. the

what kind of tires do you have?
size of tires?
ride height? is your front end lower then your rear?
tire pressures?
road conditions? happen in the dry? wet?

Re: car feels unstable.
"What does a sway bar do?"
"1. We know it keeps the car more level. So what? Limiting the lean of
the body is good because it means that when you take a quick set into
a turn, that the body isn't still moving sideways after the tires at their
limits. Otherwise you turn in quickly, the tires grip, then the body finally finishes leaning, when it stops, the tires loose grip. This is especially noticable in most cars in the slalom where you lean one way then the other and so forth." essentially it'll feel loose potentially causing fishtailing because of the extra body roll.

Re: car feels unstable.
I've driven my car without a rear swaybar and it didn't fishtail, so I'm still confused. EK's and EG's come from the factory without a rsb either and I don't see grandma's drifting turns.
If the guys last alignment was a year ago and he just swapped suspension and bushings, wouldn't one come to the conclusion that his toe is likely to be far out of spec?

Re: car feels unstable.
agreed alignment should definatley be done and i see what youre saying, maybe some more info cuz i assumed he just took it off causing a new problem. if its been off for a year without issue then thats probably not it. i broke one on my camaro and once on a cavalier and both became really sloppy in the rear around corners afterward. i would do an alignment first and see what happens, we have no idea what your specs are now so it'll be difficult to diagnose without getting some numbers. i cant see toe causing fishtailing under sharp cornering either though.

Re: car feels unstable.
Honda's and the cars you mentioned are different animals.
Absolutely toe can cause the rear to whip around. It's called toeing out. When your toe is different on all four corners, the car will do wild things on bumps because your tires are pulling/gripping in 4 different directions.

but his toe is not adjustable in the rear, toe out in the front would cause pulling and toe in plowing. if it was out in the rear like he hit a curb or something sure, but again im assuming the rear is str8. bottom line he needs an alignment.

thx! it sounds right to me. 7 outta 10 ek eg guys dont have a rsb and they can still take turns like a champ with good coilovers. i would start from getting my car aligned!
