Default B20b/b18 vtec

Hello I have a b20b4 block with a p72 (b18b) head, it's non-vtec, the question I'm asking is what vtec head would be best to put on my block for horsepower torque boost ect... I'm putting it in a 92 Honda Civic automatic and I really want to make it a standard transmission, any thing to help me out, I also need to know what intake manifold would be best, thanks in advance

First of all, I'm a lil confused - u listed the head as a p72 b18b non-VTEC... A p72 is a GSR (B18C) head and it's definitely VTEC... Please clarify lol

This is the motor I'm swapping for a d15, the bock is a b20b4 but the head says p72, I'm kinda confused myself because I've heard that a p72 head is a b18b which is non vtec

Lol yeah, that's just a straight up B20.. p75 is the same head for b18b and b20b/z - with the exception of the P8R head.

So are you going to clean it up at least, do some maintenance on it before swapping it in?

You need to give alot more info than just "horsepower torque boost ect." We need to know an action plan. Street/Drag? Budget? HP/TQ Goals? and alot more.

I think youre looking in the wrong direction, you should get a cylinderhead from a B16A - v-tec.

If you google you will find some or a lot of treads about it, going up to 170 HP.
But switching the cylinderhead is one thing, making everything work perfect is something else. You also need new high comp pistons to get there. And a modification of your cars ECU, modification on the B20 block to make V-TEC work is also needed.... Read all you can about it before you go in that direction.
