Remember, it is ONLY an extension, and by submitting the documents, that is considered an admission of guilt that your vehicle does not conform to CARB protocol. This loophole, if used, can become a very deep and expensive hole to try to get out of.
Better yet, the farther you are from CARB, and the less they know about you, the better.
Voluntarily sending CARB unnecessary information is a big no-no.....

$150 sounds fantastic, would you mind hooking me up with your guy? (j/k) These shops are getting shut down left and right, and although you may have the hook-up today, doesn't guarantee that they will still be there in a week, a month, or in 2 years. Alot of shops are shutting down because they feel the pressure from CARB to shape up or ship out. Best bet, is to get a LEGAL CNG/LPG smog exemption or fork over the extra cash and get yourself some JDM diesel docts. With JDM diesel docts, you can title your car as a diesel. And, in California diesels are smog exempt.

I just PM'd hazw8st and what he's saying is true. Best way to smog a car is his method, and his prices are excellent. I'll be doing a B20Z swap soon, and he'll be the first person I call when smog comes up.

Gentlemen, the best way to do ANYTHING is the LEGAL way. When you do things right the first time, you NEVER have to go back and do it again. Smog exemption is fantastic, because you don't have to smog every 2 years.....

Odd ball comments like these are why smog threads are generally state specific. For the record, this thread is a California specific smog thread. What applies to California emissions testing, does not necessarily apply to any other state in the union.
