B18b1 fuel pressure regulator on a b18c1?

Has anyone ever used a b18b1 FPR on a gsr before? I'm just asking because i think this might be the cause of my hesitation. I would just use the gsr FPR, but the fuel hose that connects to the bottom of the fpr is smaller on the gsr than the b1.

And the manual says the fuel pressure should be 40-47 psi for the b1 and 48-55 for the gsr.

Ya, that's too low pressure for gsr- probably leaning it out all the way through. No bueno. Try new piece of vac hose to fit the correct fpr.

The fuel return line is an easy swap...a blown motor is a bit more complicated. Use the correct FPR before things get ugly.

Cool thanks for the replies guys. Got a new fuel return line from autozone and fit great. Motor is running so much better now.

Hmm not exactly sure. I just got that info from the manual.

Oh, if you test the psi with the fpr vacuum hose off and pinched, it should be at 48-55, but tested with the vacuum hose connected, it should be between 39-46

Its refreshing to see that some people on this site are still worthwhile and can fix things in a timely manner haha. Glad to hear it resolved the issue

Hey Guys,

I have a 96 GSR swapped into my 96 civic ex coupe. I am running into an issue of gas in my oil and i am currently suspicious of my FPR being bad. im getting way high FPR readings when using a test kit like 55-60psi. I have done a compression test and leakdown test making sure my rings are good. i have 200+ compression on all 4 cylinders. I listened to my fuel injectors using screwdriver method and they all sound identical. I have not had a chance to try different injectors yet.

My question is - would 10-20psi too much fuel pressure cause leak by on my injectors? Could an ignition issue cause gas in the oil? like timing being off wether it is ignition timing or cam/crank timing?

Thanks guys. My first time actually needing help like this on here.

How do you know fuel is mixing with the oil?

you would have to be running very very rich to mix fuel in the oil.

Do you have a AFR gauge? if not buy one and install it asap! best gauge you can have in the car even on a stock engine! This will show you if you are running rich or lean and when.

It can be a few things, wrong ECU causing the injectors to dump extra fuel, a check engine cell causing the engine to run rich or leaking injectors and possible a bad FPR causing extra fuel to be burned. A stock FPR shouldn't be expensive or hard to find you can start from there, verify you have the correct ECU and no check engine codes. Also you can pull out the injectors very easy and have them sent to be flow tested, I believe there's a few places that you can send them too this is a very common thing people do to make sure there injectors are flowing correctly.
