I bought it along with the gauge. This shop that made me a custom cat installed the b&m gauge for me, but they said they wouldn't recommend using the b&m fuel pressure regulator cuz it has chances of leaking, because you have to cut the stock one? Has anyone using this had any leaks? I'm kinda scared to install it now.. should i sell it and get AEM instead? p.s. any tips on the install?

I've had two on my last two cars.

No leaks, just follow the instructions on cutting the stock fpr.

Make sure to replace the o-ring on the old fpr that you cut if it looks worn.

The Vortech is a better choice, no need to cut it, and it's not grossly overpriced like the AEM.

Right, which is why he did not buy an AEM

I messed up my regulator on the first try..
but I learned that all it takes is to slightly cut into the edge
all around and watch how it comes all appart

i had it on a d16z6 and a d16y8 fuel pressure regulator and soon I am putting it on my b18c1 fuel pressure regulator B&M is as good as any except you have to cut it which really isnt too bad

i have the B&M set and ive had no problems... real easy install, takes about 10-15 min

The portion that you are cutting is not pressurized and does not contain the fuel, so there is absolutely no chance of leakage. If the shop had taken the time to read over the instruction sheet or examine the unit, they would have realized this. My advice would be to install it yourself and find a new shop for future work.

i did it earlier today, pretty dang easy.. except i couldn't get the ****** metal clamp off the hose, but my cousin came and helped me and he took it off in like 30 sec. My psi is set right now at like 53psi w/ cai, jdm dc 4-1 header, carsound cat, and apexi n1 exhaust. Is this a good setting? I don't have the cash right now to dyno it or anything.

to tell you the truth nope is not the right setting
unless you had a chipped ecu.
so your car is running very lean....

so set it between 35 give or take -+2

well is the psi at wot or at idle. mine is set at 40psi idle and 52psi wot. and my mileage per gallon went up

that was at idle . I reset it this morning to 38 idle with the vacuum hose in.

yea, that's what i was thinking. So 37-38psi is a alright setting?

i guess so. i have mine at 40-42psi at idle. and like i said before my mpg went from 180-210 to 240-280. and i drive the same places dayin and day out. and it actually seems like i drive harder now then i used too.

actually i was wrong. mine is at 50psi at idle and 62psi wot. here is a pic of the guage at idle. its hard to see but its right between 40 and 60.

It really only matters what it's set at at WOT and that can be simulated by pulling the vacuum hose--that's how you should always set it.

yeah i know but i was asking him a question and using it to relate to where his was set at. and actually wot can also be done by pulling on the throttle cable and see where it jumps too.
