Id go with the comptec. You dont have to worry about water and it will probably get better HP gains on hot days.

comptech!!!! I've had both.... the aem was nice, and also had a great tone to it, but I was always scared of driving with it on whenever it rained. I then cut it and converted it into a short ram for the winter months which was nice, but I still wanted the assurance I wasn't going to hydrolock my motor if I did convert it back to a cai. When I got the comptech ice box system, it was noticeably quieter and it looks almost stock! Living in CA, having stock looking parts helps when cops pull you over. Anyways, I ended up coming to a part of the highway where it was flooded about 2+ ft of water. I saw a couple civics that had pulled over after and half way in the puddle (assuming they hyrdo locked). I couldn't turn around so I drove through it slowly. After I went through it, the car was still running so I drove to the nearest parking lot. I opened up the box and felt my filter....completely dry! Ever since then, I've been SOLD!

I agree with the water and comptech, but overall are they the same power gain?

I hope I don't drive through 2ft of water.

It's raining here and I ONLY have a K&N filter on my Turbo.

Yea , you can buy only the ICebox and filter, and connect it to your stock Intake arm. But im sure to get the full benefits of it intake, it would prolly make more power with the tube as well. BUt if your going for the stock look , then you'll be fine with just the Icebox part

They really dotn even help that much...
whats wrong with an ebay 3 inch cai pipe, and a K&N filter?

WAYY cheaper... you can put the money towards like a header or something.

The horsepower you gain from having a cold air intake and not having one is minimal.. the difference between 2 different ones is TINY

true but he wants to stay street legal I assume and here in cali we don't get many choices if were trying to do that. I have the v2 on mine, i like it, makes an awesome sound when you full throttle it, so if you can find them for around the same price i'd say go with the v2.... and when did they start coming in two piece piping? mine came as only one piece and wasn't a fun process installing it.
