97 Acura integra hard to start after engine is at operating temperature
okay so I have a 1997 Acura integra 4dr and when I start my car whenever the engine is cold it starts just fine but after I drive for a good hour or so and shut the car off and try to start the car again while the engine is still warm it will start for a couple of seconds but it seems like it misfires and the rpm's will drop and cut off and after that happens if I try to start it again right after that it just cranks and the only way I can keep it started is by pressing the gas right after starting it and keep the rpm needle in between 2000-3000 rpm's for about a minute and after that it idles fine but sometimes I have to hurry up and put it in gear then drive for a minute after that it's runs great. Also no error codes comes up after this happens and it doesn't always happens sometimes it will start up just fine when the engine is hot and then sometimes it has that starting problems I was talking about.
All the main relays are good got all new spark plugs, wires, distributor. Has new radiator coolant is good. It has 130,000 miles on

also test ect sensor. there is a sort of test for icm:
Advanced Ignition Troubleshooting - Team Integra Forums - Team Integra
but bad icm usually makes the tach freak out off and on.

Could be a stuck IAC valve. Try cleaning it with throttle body cleaner and see what happens

lol exact issue happened to me, except also had a high idle (2500 rpm) in addition to the hard start.
Definitely test your ECT sensor, clean the throttle body and IAC valve, and reset the idle if needed.
My ECT sensor started to crap out, and in addition to that, the base idle adjustment was way out of spec.

I had the same issues for years, it ended up being the IAC valve. Tried to clean it 10+ times, finally bought a new one and the problem went away.
