1991 DA automatic seat belt problem

The seat belts when you step on the break do not lock . They stay loose. Is this the way it should be?.

Mine (1993) are the same way. I suspect this belt may be the velocity-lock type. Not sure what else to call it but yknow, it’s the type that locks when the belt is yanked very quickly.... the waist belt is the one connected to the brakes maybe? I never wear the waist belt..... just Wear a helmet if you’re worried.

Yes they are the "velocity-lock" type. Try slamming into a tree at 25 miles an hour. The belt will lock.

Seriously, drive about 25 miles an hour and then suddenly brake hard. The seat belt will lock.

Great advice! Make sure to have an open bottle of jack in the car and no pants on when you
do this test. The police will let you off, trust me.... jk!
