Anybody that have an exospeed front end need a lot of finessing to fit? It's on an EK that has never been in an accident before. Everybody that I have talked to that has an exospeed front end, whether it was an EG, EK, DC, or EF said they didn't have issues at all fitting the kits up.

Overall, the kit looks great but these issues would have been nice to know of beforehand. Don't get me wrong, I was not and do not expect a perfect OEM fitment, just didn't think it would require this much work to make it fit.

Mine are minor issues but I thought the product would need less work to fit it.

Here are some of my issues with my kit:

1. mounting holes are not predrilled. I was told by many people that they come predrilled.

2. the "lip" of the grill does not fit around the radiator support like it's supposed to. In one area, it seems like maybe the bumper was moved from the mold before it fully dried so a portion of it collapsed not allowing it to fit the radiator support?

3. When the fenders line up with the door, it doesn't line up with the bolt holes under the hood. If I slightly bend the bottom portion of the fender so I can bolt it onto the chassis then the fender will start to make cracking sounds so I pull back. That's both fenders.

The bolt holes are not suppose to be drilled. They are not drilled so that you can place the holes where ever you need them. There are impressions where the bolt holes could go in a perfect world but doesn't mean you have to use those exact points.

What I did was drill out spots for the fender in engine bay and then elongated the holes I drilled on the 2 tabs on the side so you have movement and can make the door gap larger or smaller.

Fwiw I also have had a jojo front and that did not have bolt holes drilled. I also found that my jojo needed a lot of work to fit and the Exospeed fit very easily. This was on an EG though.

We have a collection of these front ends, none of them came pre-drilled, and I prefer it that way, as you can fit it to your car as you see fit.. We did add some fiberglass to certain areas that were a bit too thin, but other than that, they are a good deal for the price..

Let me clear some things up. Our kits are "overdone" to fit to your liking.
Not all cars are setup the same way so certain areas have extra material that may need to trim.
So while for many it can be straight bolt on, certain things are trimmed to fit.

1. Flat/diffuser area can be 100% used and functional. But certain cars cant use all of the diffuser due to traction bar clearance or downpipe placement. So its trimmed to fit to your use.

2. Holes arent predrilled so u can line it up and drill as needed to your own car.

3. Grill and opening shroud. They are long and may be more material than needed since every car may have different thickness of intercooler and placement. Thats all trimmed to fit.

4. Fenders are self tapped to the side skirt so you can twist the bottom for more clearance as needed. Also the inside part of the bottom of the fender ia usually trimmedif needed for big tires to clear as they tun.

5. The arch of the fender also is flat at the edge to allow trimming for bigger tires. The flat area allows you to trim without sacrificing the shpe and arch of the fender. It can still retain the look even with slight trimming. _

As far as surface prep. The kit comes out of the mold and we do trimming on the edges of the excess material. The surface is sanded down a certain amount. We dont fully prep it to show quality surface. You are responsible for doing the final prep to your own standards. But for many the surfacr is prepped well enough and will not require much prep before paint.

i believe we have installed almost all the frontends on the market. by far exospeed is the greatest fitting front end. fiberglass will always need modification to fit correct, but just takes a lil finesse and fits great.

I had an issue making my fit, i had to add my extra reinforcement for the bumper joins the fender and make some kinda quick release wing and bolt deal (so when i load it on a trailer )

and cut to fit the diffuser to my my NRG traction bar fit and that was it, trim a little of the inter-cooler
but that was it ..... you might have to take it off and put it on take off and put it on fiberglass

I cut a notch in mine for the traction bars. I kept the bottom diffuser.

Was this just recently purchased. Ive been having some issues with a EG front too driver fender is all the way against the pinch weld and the hood still lands on top of the fender near the head light.

How long does it take to line up stock Honda fenders, bumper and hood properly? I'm not saying that the Exospeed front end is like OEM... But, I've seen my fair share of fiberglass FUGAZI! All I have to say is that it took me 30-40 mins to install my Exospeed front end. It was easy and you can't have pre drilled holes on fiberglass body parts. It's soo hard for perfect fitment everytime. I used all factory bolt hole locations without a sweat! Love my front end! Thanks WIL

i hope people use common sense when coming to body panels. im sure carbon hoods dont just bolt on and line up perfect either. just be meticulous about fitments, take your time. its definitely a process even with any type of body panel may it be carbon metal or glass, its a installation process. there are things you have to make due in order for it to fit correctly.

I have the fenders done. Just waiting for my dzus fasteners to come in to fit the bumper. The only thing was that the upper mounting tab behind the door came out a like a quarter inch too far so when you bolt the fenders in, the top corner of the fender sticks out about 1/4". I'll pull it out and re-do the mounting tabs after I fit up the bumper.

I also said I did not expect it to fit up like OEM. I did expect it to allow me to hang them on the car without something or someone holding it up though(it was the bumper as mentioned above). I'm not dissin' Wil or exospeed, He's always treated me great. I was just curious as to who had the same problems as me.

i was just wondering if anyone has tried the crx front end on a ef hatch back? and if anyone else could post up some pics of there crx 3pc?

so not to quote myself but no one has tried it or said they have so i just went ahead and gave it a shot myself. i picked up the crx open 3pc kit at IFO yesterday in Las Vegas from Wil. here it is after a little cutting/trimming done today

It actually doesnt look bad. We just wanted to make some changes for the bottom part of the fender to be more Exact, so no modifications are required and of course the corner lights to match.

BTW Good meeting you yesterday. Thanks for the support and for hanging out til the end of the day to grab the stuff.

I remember when you guys said it would be ready in December, you called it a 4 piece front end? Is that the filler piece? Also, any chance youre going to mold in the black molding piece that goes on the fenders and bumper, so it matches the rest of the car? Just realized that wasnt integrated into the CRX one
