RealTime Racing Announces Civic Type R TCR Driver, Additional Civic Si Entry
A trio of Hondas will race under the RealTime banner this year in Pirelli World Challenge.
Just on the heels of RealTime Racing’s announcement of a Civic Type R entry in the Pirelli World Challenge TCR class, a second TCR Type R driver has been announced, along with a TCA entry via a Civic Si.
Driving the #44 Unlockbitcoin.com Civic Type R TCR, Nick Esayian joins teammate Ryan Eversley in the two car lineup. Like Eversley, Esayian has had a long history with RTR, having racked up 8 seasons with them in prior years of racing. Esayian is reveling the opportunity, saying “I’m embracing this opportunity to be back with my ‘home team’ in a new car and class, under [team owner] Peter Cunningham’s watchful eye.” The announcement of Esayian as a second driver also comes with a first look at RTR’s official livery for the Type R, shown above.
Further paddock space will be taken up by a third car, but this one, the #94 Civic Si, will run in the TCA class. Behind the wheel of that car will be Tom O’Gorman. Having already competed in the Pirelli World Challenge in a 2017 Civic Si, O’Gorman brings experience and speed to RTR. Backed by Honda Performance Development, O’Gorman find himself with a team he always dreamed of racing with since he first got involved in the sport. O’Gorman says, “to be under the RealTime tent – a team I’ve idolized for as long as I can remember – is both a dream come true and an intense motivator to perform well this year.”
Pirelli World Challenge race season is just around the corner, March 23-25 in fact. Each of the six weekend will feature a double-header race, with the first stop this weekend being at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. Live video of the debut race can be seen at World Challenge.
