Operation Motorsport to Enter Honda Civic Type-Rs in 2022 Race of Remembrance
Organization also confirms its partnership with Skip Barber Racing School.
Operation Motorsport will field a pair of Skip Barber Racing Honda Civic Type-Rs in the 2022 Race of Remembrance. This 12-hour event will be held in Anglesey in Wales over the Veteran’s/Remembrance Day Weekend on November 11-13, 2022. Team Motorsport also confirmed its partnership with Skip Barber Racing School.
According to Racer.com, the two Honda Civic Type-Rs will feature unique Andy Blackmore Design liveries. Both cars will include the same principle OpMo team livery, which will include placing the names of service members and veterans on the hood of each vehicle. The United States and Canada will also be represented on the liveries of the team cars.
Operation Motorsport is the sole North American veterans’ organization participating in the Race of Remembrance. This unique event provides wounded and medically retired service members in the United States and Canada a chance to connect with fellow veterans who share experiences and face similar challenges. It underscores the importance and meaning of Veteran’s/Remembrance Day.
The not-for-profit Operation Motorsport organization is based in Raleigh, North Carolina and Brighton, Ontario. Serving American and Canadian service members and veterans, it was created to use motorsports activities to help medically retiring or retired service members with their recovery.
As in 2019, the team is conducting an Honoring Service fundraising campaign. For just $25, you can honor a veteran or military service member by adding their name to one of the racers. The team plans to place 400 names of past or current military members and veterans on both cars’ hoods. You can submit a name to be included in the event by texting 22pitcrew to 243725 (U.S.) or 888-597-2477 (Canada). You can also use the provided QR code.
