Oldsmobile 'GutlessSupreme': Coolest Weird Turbo K-Swap We've Ever Seen

K swaps are in EVERYTHING these days, but a turbo K-swap in an Oldsmobile? That’s a new one for us.

The amount of times we talk about Oldsmobiles on Honda-Tech is pretty much… never. But there is a first time for everything. So feast your eyes on this K-swapped Oldsmobile Cutlass. Dubbed the “GutlessSupreme,” this Olds has a turbo K -series in it, and is meant to just be a fun cruiser for the owner, Yoan Emond. His post on Facebook’s K20a.org group is where we found this cool creation.

The build starts with a G-body generation Cutlass. From there we only have details on the engine. It’s a K24, and has a Turbonetics turbo on it. Power? We don’t know. Engine management? Your guess is as good as ours. Size of the turbo? Not that small. But there is a drag strip run to showcase what the car’s new powerplant can do in the wild. The “GutlassSupreme” just sneaks into the 12’s with a 12.933 at 107 miles per hour.

That’s considerably better than the car’s original time of over 17 seconds at a wheezy 78 miles per hour according to Automobile Catalog. Still, with the basis of a K-block and a turbo, we know that if the owner really wanted to, they could really eke out a lot more speed from this car. But they admit it isn’t built for drag racing.

Without a huge amount of boost, the engine isn’t under stress. That combo makes for a great daily driver. Yes there’s faster cars, but this is a fun car for all occasions. Fast enough to be fun, but simple enough to be reliable. And quite a conversation piece, too. We’re sure it gets equally confused reception at American car cruise-ins, and JDM car shows. But it can effectively show up at both.

This Oldsmobile sits right in line with the other wild creations that others are coming up with for K-swaps. The swapped Porsche 911’s really seem to get under people’s skin, and the K swapped Corvettes do the same trick, if not better. Honestly, we’re all for it.
