If an Integra and an El Camino had a baby, this would be it.

Somewhere in Baltimore, MD, there’s a 2001 DC2 Acura Integra GS-R for sale on Craigslist┬áthat’s been transformed into a ute. Notice how I’m not calling it a truck because of obvious reasons. I don’t know about you, but I have never seen a project quite like this done with the DC2 chassis before. Sure, there’s the mid-engine RWD DC2 that was built a few years back, but to say that this Integra ute is unique would be an understatement.

According to the seller, the car seems to drive fine. There weren’t any more details on the B18C1 under the hood minus the Hasport motor mounts that were swapped in place of the OEM units. The stock suspension was also ditched for a set of Skunk2 Racing Pro-C coilovers. An aftermarket short shifter has also been added. Other than that, the DC2 remains mostly stock.

The seller does mention that there is some cosmetic damage to the hood and driver side fender. For some reason, they were damaged during the repainting process. Once those two bits are take care of the exterior will look minty fresh. Upon further inspection, the car is sitting on 15×8 949 Racing 6UL wheels. It’s difficult to identity what kind of tires are being used from the photos. Judging from the exhaust tip, we’re pretty sure the DC2 ute is using an aftermarket cat-back system.

There seems to be a squeak coming from the sunroof, but my old 1995 DB8’s sunroof squeaked a little too, but it still opened and closed just fine. Perhaps some good old WD-40 should do the trick? For being a backyard build, the construction of the rear cargo tray doesn’t look all too bad. You can tell that a lot of time and energy was put into the project.

Is it worth the $5,000 asking price? Would you be down to add an Integra ute to your garage? Let us know on the forum!
