Honda S2000 Goes Wheel to Wheel with a Porsche GT3 RS

Watch this epic S2000 vs GT3 RS battle spontaneously unfold at the legendary Nurburgring Nordschleife.

Ah, the Nurburgring. Probably the top track that every car enthusiast wants to drive at least once in their life. We learned about it through video games like Grand Turismo and Forza or through watching racing events since childhood. Racing history is brimming at this track and the “Green Hell” lives on in the hearts of enthusiasts everywhere, whether they have been or not. For the lucky few that do get to go, it is an experience unlike any other.

For those unfamiliar, the “Nordschliefe” track layout is infamous, spanning over 20 kilometers or nearly 13 miles. Elevation changes, blind corners, traffic, long straights, technical sections, it has it all. It doesn’t really matter what type of vehicle you have, it will perform well on one section or another. One of the other beauties of this layout is that literally any vehicle can go on track. Volvo station wagon with rotting tires? Perfect. 911 GT3 RS? Perfect. It doesn’t matter, anyone can run at the same time. This is how OneLapHeroes on YouTube found this epic battle between an S2000 and a GT3 RS.

For the Nurburgring, a sub-10 minute lap the first day out is a pretty decent pace. For context, the battle between these two cars resulted in a lap time closer to the 7:30 mark. Thus, when considering racing is usually decided by the milliseconds, that’s a pretty fast time.

While the original video doesn’t give a description of who owns this S2000 or the car’s mods, we managed to find the owner on YouTube. From what we understand he has an HKS supercharger and a small CR-style rear wing to help with grip. Otherwise, we’re still in the dark.

Initially, when the lap begins, the camera car (a V6-powered Mazda Miata) sees as a Porsche GT3 RS comes to pass him and the S2000 in the first couple seconds of the lap. What results next is an epic battle between the three cars that nobody would have expected. Watch as the S2000 literally rides the bumper of a $200,000 Porsche until the very end of the lap. How this S2000 managed to keep up, what his secret is, we don’t know. However, if you’d like to check out his channel, click this link here!
