Honda and Acura Announce Next Wave of Takata Airbag Recalls
Takata airbag recalls continue, this time for the driver’s side airbag, with over one million Honda and Acura models affected.
Just in case you forgot: the airbags in your Honda may actually turn your car into a rolling death trap. Faulty airbag inflators, designed by supplier Takata, may be prone to premature rupture, which pops the airbag in the process. Additionally, now information is coming out that certain airbags are now susceptible to deploying the airbag too aggressively, in the event of an accident, which can cause bodily harm, or even death. Do not ignore this, people have actually died due to this issue.
Have you already gotten yours replaced? That’s good, but it’s time to head back to the dealership for round two, because the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has penned another official document regarding Honda and Acura airbags in dire need of recall, this time for the driver’s side airbag.
Here is a list of vehicles affected, pulled straight from the NHTSA document:
- ACURA/ILX HYBRID/2013-2014
- ACURA/TL/2002-2006, 2009-2014
