Forever 21 Announces Honda Fashion Line Collaboration

‘Forever 21 X Honda Capsule Collection’ showcases retro-inspired gear.

To answer the inevitable question: “Yes, really.” Fashion retailer Forever 21 has come out with limited-run collaborative clothing line with Honda. The Capsule Collection is inspired by the bold fashion sense of 1980s and early 1990s American youth. Specifically, it is inspired by 1980s and 1990s Honda motocross gear.

Excuse our naïveté on the matter, this isn’t exactly the Internet’s #1 fashion blog destination. That said, some of the older guys in the office may be breaking new ground by stepping into a Forever 21 for the first time to purchase some of this gear, as some of them need new copies of jackets they wore in the 1980s when they actually were motocross racing. We do know that young people like F21 because it’s inexpensive and hip…Just like our fascination with Golden Era Hondas, I guess. Who knew Honda was the next big street wear icon?

While no one in the office is fashionable enough, or in good enough shape, to model the clothes, I’m guessing more than a few of us will end up buying some of it. It is Honda gear, after all. As long as we all avoid the mini skirt and crop tops, it will probably be fine. Probably.

It’s all priced pretty cheaply for such a big brand name. So what do you say? Will this vintage Honda swag be enough to convert you into a street wear-ing hype beast and jump aboard the fashion train? Or, more importantly, how do you feel about Honda using their brand name in the fashion world like this? Drop a comment and let us know. We will keep our eyes peeled on GDD to see if this pops up for some discussion, and debate in the forums.
