FK8 Civic Type R Exhaust Compilation is Auditory Nirvana
Your speakers are about to get an exercise with this FK8 exhaust sound compilation. Revs, fly-bys, and in-car audio!
If there’s one thing car enthusiasts enjoy, it is a good exhaust note from a high-performance car. Honda’s Civic Type R is the most powerful Civic yet, but uses a turbo instead of high revs to achieve its performance. Worry not, because a turbocharged motor has its own delightful sounds as seen in this compilation video from Vivid Racing. Exhaust systems from industry leaders are all showcased, so let’s crank up the volume.
The first exhaust to appear is an Armytrix unit. It sounds the most like an exotic, with a high-pitched howl, unlike the other exhausts. Ask us, and off the record, we’ll say it is one of our favorites. While there’s some appeal to the gruff sound from other systems, there’s something about this one that stands out from the rest.
If you’re after decibels, Tomei has one of the most “straight pipe” exhausts out there. It’s loud on all accounts from their outside fly-by video and even their in-car video too. If that’s a bit too much, they also have systems with single or dual mufflers. Good news for those who like a civilized Type R experience. AWE Performance has two styles of exhaust as well. A Touring edition which adds a bit of growl, and a Track edition which ads a lot more bass tones.
If you’re looking for something that has a unique style, our picks would have to go to the Remark and HKS exhaust systems. We happen to like the double-barrel look, and Remark’s blue exhaust tips look excellent, especially on a blue CTR. HKS, on the other hand, has two short tips, surrounded in carbon fiber, attached to fat mufflers that nearly fill the bumper cutout for the factory exhaust.
One thing is for sure, all of the mufflers add some auditory appeal compared to the factory version. Stock systems aren’t bad by any means, but how many of us can resist the urge to modify our cars? We certainly cant.
