Acura Legend Looks Factory Fresh after 30 Years
Nearly pristine Acura Legend has less than 70,000 miles on the clock and hit the auction block after 19 years of ownership!
The Acura Legend is one of those weird car models that folks tend to overlook a bit. It doesn’t quite have the sporty prowess or Type R heritage of the Integra. Moreover, it certainly doesn’t carry the praise and pedigree of the NSX. However, it does provide a luxurious ride coupled with legendary (no pun intended) Honda reliability and notable 90s VIP styling that anyone can appreciate. Though it doesn’t stand out for its quirks, per se, it does have a bit of a surprise under the hood that we’ll address later.
This extremely gorgeous low-mileage time capsule of a Legend recently appeared on Cars and Bids. Given that the Legend was a bit forgettable in the eyes of many, you don’t see near-perfect examples much. After all, most buyers drove them every day for years, just like one would with any car. Even the rapper Ludacris managed to put over a quarter of a million miles on his Acura Legend that he still owns and drives to this day. All said and done, an example like this could someday pull in heaps of money.
Leather Interior Fit for a King
This particular Acura Legend is a Legend L model. Like all other Honda products, the “L” trim means that the interior features leather upholstery.
The black leather seats, door cards, matching black carpets, and other interior components are in absolutely stunning condition. Save for some expected cracking on the edges of the driver seat; one could easily believe that this entire car’s interior had recently been replaced. Despite its low mileage (the odometer reads ~69,800), you’d still think there’d bit a bit more wear and tear than this thing has.
Considering time and use, the interior is nearly flawless.
Now, About That Engine Bay
You’re not seeing things! That is a longitudinal engine ensemble under the hood of a Honda product that isn’t an S2000. However, despite the engine layout, the Acura Legend is still front-wheel-drive. Much like its five-cylinder-sporting cousin, the Acura Vigor, the engine is mounted as if it were prepared for a rear-wheel-drive chassis despite it still powering the front wheels.
The engine in the Legend is a 3.2-liter C-series V6 that makes a tastefully adequate 202 horsepower and 210 pound-feet of torque. Thinking back to the era of the early 90s, that’s actually a pretty substantial amount! Power makes it to the front wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission. After all, this is a luxury car, and you wouldn’t want to be burdened by having to shift gears yourself.
Overall, seeing an Acura Legend in this condition is just super cool. Unfortunately, this listing already came to an end. However, you may want to take a peek at Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist. You can often find pretty awesome deals on these pretty awesome cars! Then you can own one of these fun, quirky luxury Acuras for yourself!
