400 HP Nitrous K24 Civic Street Car – The Perfect Build?

By -

This EG hatch might be the perfect balance between all-out performance and near OEM drivability!

There is a reason that people continue to build EG hatches 20+ years since their release in the early ’90s. Their nimble, incredibly light, and versatile chassis are the perfect donors for building some sweet cars. The impact of the EG cannot be understated. They have become icons of their era and have shaped the Honda tuning scene as a result.

So when we see these older Hondas being featured still on big YouTube channels like The Racing Channel, we aren’t too surprised. They are just that good! The owner of this car, Ahkeim, would be sure to agree with us. He, “has been building cars for around 10 years. Started with another EG hatch, built to have a VTEC B20. Then I had a EK coupe that made 230 HP with another B-series. Then, I bought this car as a shell and went K-series.”

We all know and love the trusted B-series and a lot of people enjoy their reliable and consistent power in this chassis. Not to mention their compatibility and aftermarket support. However, once you want to make big power, the newer, more modern K-series starts to make a lot of sense. Let’s see what he put into this car to get to the point it’s at today.

According to Ahkeim, when he started the build on this car, “the plan was to have a fun street car that I could take to track, the shows, the meets, or whatever and still have stock drivability… the theme of the car was to have an OEM+ theme, the best of both worlds. The horsepower, but still looking and driving like OEM.” So even though this 1993 Civic might be far from stock, it is perfectly capable on the street. Not to mention, it looks so clean in the Championship White paint when combined with the bronze Volk Racing TE37s.

While this car might look cleaner than a whistle, it was just built by him and a couple of his friends in their free time. Without a doubt, the build is still coming together as he continues to work out the kinks. One thing is for certain however, it definitely already is damn quick in a straight line. Before putting in the current K24 in this EG, Ahkeim was running stock K20.

That engine put down a 12.5 at 106 mph in the 1/4 mile. However, his goals this time around are much bigger. “With this engine, I’m hoping to be 11.5 all-motor and hopefully crack a 10.9 or 10.8 on nitrous.” Considering the mods list and power figures of this Civic, that would be a hell of a street car off the line. Curious what parts have gone into this build? We’ll have them down below as a list for potential shoppers!
