2022 Honda Civic Gets a Power Bump Thanks to Hondata’s FlashPro

Hondata recently uploaded a video on its official YouTube channel that demonstrates the capability of a retuned 2022 Honda Civic engine.

The design of the 11th generation Honda Civic is much more restrained than its predecessor. The latest installment of the lauded nameplate might not be the sportiest-looking offering in the segment, but there is plenty of untapped potential tucked away under the hood of the new model. Recently prolific Honda tuner, Hondata uploaded a video on its official YouTube channel that demonstrates the capability of a retuned 2022 Honda Civic engine.

As one of the most renowned Honda tuners in the industry, Hondata knows its way around an ECU, and the 2022 Civic is the latest subject of the Torrance, California-based tuner’s FalshPro product. The new model is available with two engine options. The LX trim gets a 2-liter 158 HP DOHC i-VTECH motor as standard. Just like its predecessor, the all-new Honda Civic also comes equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged motor.

“We are back on the dyno with our ‘22 Civic to test our FlashPro manager software for the very first time. We’ve got about 1000 miles on the clock, and we’ve got some high octane fuel in the tank,” said Doug from Hondata. He further added, “We are expecting some great results.”

The more capable 11th-gen Civic variants are propelled by the turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine, which produces 180 HP of maximum power and 177 lb-ft of peak torque in its factory tune. The hatchback variants of the 2022 Civic get a six-speed manual gearbox option, but the sedan models come equipped with Honda’s trusted CVT transmission. Hondata used the turbocharged powertrain to demonstrate the prowess of its tuning package.

The Dynapack test revealed that with Hondata’s FlashPro tuning, the company’s ‘22 Civic was able to produce 196 HP of power and 213 lb-ft of torque. This translates into a gain of 34 HP and 50 lb-ft over the 162 HP and 163 lb-ft baseline estimate, which was also determined using Dynapack.

We expect the tuner’s FlashPro device to easily connect to the OBD-II port of the 2022 Civic. This will allows the customers to install different tunes and throttle maps using the Hondata interface. Customers who wish to install aftermarket parts will also be able to use Hondata’s FlashPro device to re-calibrate their cars to support the new performance upgrades.
