2017 Honda Civic Type R Caught in the Wild, Up Close Video

By -

Civic Type R have hit the U.S., and this one was caught in the wild.

Despite not officially going on sale until this Summer, the CTR is here. We won’t be able to bring you a full review of the new Type R until we get our hands on one in a few months. However, more news seems to be continually trickling out as eagle eyed Honda fans spot them.

An enthusiastic fan happened to be spot this black Civic Type R sitting in a parking lot in Valencia, California. After getting the walk around of the car, and snagging a few details from it’s caretaker, we get treated to an up close video of the exhaust. Which is, underwhelming, to be honest. With the camera pressed right up against the tail pipes, I expected a bit more from the hardcore Honda. Even the 2017 Civic Si I reviewed sounded more aggressive:

Here is a quick snippet of my 2017 Civic Si review. Check out the full video on the front page of Honda-tech.com! Link in my bio. @honda @hondatechcom #work #theoffice #office #honda #hondacivic #civicsi #civic #hondatech #carsofinstagram #car #JDM #instagram #internet #internetbrands

Here’s hoping it was a fluke, and that the Type R sounds better under load and at full throttle. For the time being, what do you think? I’m guessing muffler deletes or aftermarket downpipes will be very popular mods for the new CTR.
