I hear you, makes sense for sure. At this point doing 4 events a season with Theresa and myself driving the car double duty I get 2 seasons out of a pair of front tires and would probably get 4 out of a set of rears lol. But I change all 4 together to keep the performance consistent front to rear. I would be ok with needing tires every season, as long as the R compound lasted that long which I would imagine it would at full tread.

Maybe I just have a bad taste in my mouth from these Z2's, I'll see what the current street offering is the end of next season and go from there. Thanks for the input!

There will be a few updates this spring in the Extreme Summer arena. What about the in-betweeners such as the NT-01, Ra1, etc.. I've been amazed by the tread life of my RA1s, including a 2,300 mile highway trip and a bunch of negative camber. And they get stickier until they are dead. The NT-01 is faster on the straights, though.

Well that's the segment I would be switching to - RA1, R888, NT01 etc

UPDATEEEE!

Finally picking up steam with this thing again, and parts are coming in now for the front suspension revamp Ill be doing before the start of this season. Before I put the motor in I want to get the physical aspect of the suspension sorted, but naturally shock and spring setup is ever evolving. With that being said, Ive finally made the plunge to run the PCI sphericals up front. Im very excited to see how this changes the attitude of the front of the car Vs the stock Type R bushings.

.

.

And, a friend of mine from the UK turned me on to these top hats, which he will be trying in his DC5-R this season as well. Its a fixed design, but provides almost the same caster offset as my Todd's V1's, and is lined with holes so it can be clocked for caster/camber baseline. the real attraction here is how thin they are. From the base of the spherical to the top mounting surface is only .5" They are also extremely light weight in comparison to my V1's

.

.

To go along with the top hats and a few other places on the car I made another titanium order, and also got some nice load spreading washers to use with them

.

.

Last but not least, Theresa was working the Thompson booth at the Racer's Expo last week so @tougethisda8 and I went to pay her a visit and check out the show. We ended up meeting some very interesting people that we hope to work with in the future on products offered by SHG, and I also scooped up this Hans Sport for a steal! It will go well with the Schroth Profi 6pt harness The plan is to be in a head restraint seat and harness for 2016

Those top hats are ingenious in their simplicity.

Thanks for the update, Evan. I have a friend with an FD2 that needs a batter alternative to his ailing Buddy Club top hats.

And titanium bolts! You know I love seeing that.

Aren't they!? I'm in love with the design. And less than half the cost of resale of my Todd's

Check them out Home - Compbrake Motorsport Parts they have all different PCD's they are incredibly universal. Also have "bottom mount" so the bearing faces down, as well as non offset versions

Random but... are you happy with your seats? Too hard for daily use? I'm in the market for a set and am curious as to YOUR recommendations for track and for street. I am doing my own research, just curious.

I'm happy with them. For the price they are a great option. Fit and finish obviously are not quite as good as a high end seat but they're very sturdy, fabric is durable and they're very comfortable. A bit wide for my 30" waist but not to the point where it's a problem. A 34 would fit beautifully. Shoulders are pretty tall and fit me perfect at 6'. Sometimes it's hard to find a seat that will fit your shoulders properly if you're close to 6' or taller.

Another update for you guys!

So like I said earlier Ive been putting pieces into place for down-the-road plans for the car as opportunities have been arising...

To start, we had a pipe burst in the basement a few weeks ago while we were on vacation. Luckily it was caught shortly after it happened and nothing significant was damaged. The carpet downstairs however needed to be replaced so the land lord put in a new laminate floor

SHG center of operations! ... Whats that in those wheel sized FEDEX boxes??

.

.

My ultimate dream wheels! 17x9.5 +14 GTR spec RG's They are in immaculate condition. The plan is to get a pair of these on the front of the car but that will require wide fenders, so this is a long term goal. When I saw them pop up for sale though, I knew I had to jump on the opportunity!

.

.

Also, I picked up this TODA header for a steal a few months ago. Its got a hacked on flex section but ill be building a new megaphone into a 3" high flow cat when the time comes to install it

^that Maxxis doe. Comes in a 245/40/15 that's a hair shorter than a 205/50. Exciting for those of us still running tiny older civics.

Are they playing the size game though? Might have to check and compare the physical dimensions against some of the 225's.
