Default Dynoing an Intake ??

I just surfed through the internet and found this:

The Weapon R intake system is the result of countless hours of research and development on the dynojet

I was confused... I thought an intakes functions completely different when
the car is moving. So getting numbers from a sitting car where all the hot air is under the hood and all around the car can not be accurate in my eyes...

Can somebody correct me ? Facts please, because:

We build our own cf-intakes and customers always ask for dynos.. But I got the feeling that dyno numbers have nothing to do with the real gain once the car is running....

Intake Testing:
Lap times
Hwy Pulls
Timed 30-60, 45-70, etc pulls
Rolling starts to xx mph
Its just hard to dyno an intake....unless the dyno was in a wind tunnel....

Yeah, I think pulls from 30 to 100 or so should give a good reflection...

Don`t get me wrong, I personaly don`t care about a few hp but customers ask for that chit.. And I don`t want to be the man who tells people something about "whopping 15hp gain on thy dynojet"... That`s crap.

Hi ITR1858.

We build our own cf-intakes and customers always ask for dynos..
Can you tell me more about that cf-intake? Picture maybe?

My ITR is also sponsored by idol, I know the owner very well, cool guy!

Yeah, I know... You own his former ITR !! You`ve had a major engine shot from what I`ve heard...
Jörg is a friend of mine and I help him out when it comes to international research and markting..

You can see pics of the intake in a former thread. It`s for the Civic Type R:

or even better, do the test then download the data to a PC for graphing

All you need a variable speed industrial grade 100mph leaf blower and aim it to the intake.

Panty hose and a rubber band is all you need. Screw air filters.

If you point a large fan on the intake, open the hood and open the garage door, it's OK to use the dyno.....

Maybe one of those bench flow tests,to see how much air flows through it.
