Pics: The ULTIMATE Street Car (10 Second Daily Driven AWD 94 Mirage)
This car belongs to a good friend of mine...and its probably the sickest daily driven street legal car I've ever seen. It has run 10.40's@133 (35psi) on street tires (the ones in these pictures) with 93 octane/methanol. It currently has around 550whp, tilton carbon clutch, gt35r tuned by brad brooks with aem. As you can see by the pictures, the car doesn't have a cage which means its impossible to run more than two passes with the car before Jerry (the owner) is asked to leave the track. At this time he is currently not allowed back at Bradenton Speedway until he has a 10 second approved cage.
The car is lower in the front because of two things. One, the springs in the front have sagged a little below where the car once sat. Second, the car squats so dramatically (it weighs 2500lbs) that the exhaust drags on the ground for the first 50ft upon launching.
The motor is a built 2.4L (7.7:1 compression)stroker setup, crower cams, cyclone intake, custom alky control based methanol injection setup which allows for 32-34psi with 93 octane, Jerry Built transmission, Tilton carbon/carbon clutch (costs about 3,000 dollars), quaife front diff, 4 spider center differential, stock 4bolt rear diff, custom fmic, and a plethora of custom parts which would take too long to describe. Jerry fabricated a 4bolt rear end into the car which makes it all wheel drive (for those unfamiliar with dsm's) and is one of the only mirage's i've ever seen with this conversion.
I have driven this car (i'm one of the few who have been lucky enough) and it absolutely flies. The difference between most 10 second cars and this 10 second car is that it runs 10's on the street and it's setup is unchanged at the track. Meaning, the tires are the same, the tire pressure is the same, the boost/fuel/alky setup is the same along with everything else remaining unchanged when taken to the track. All 4 tires break loose under 80mph as soon as full boost is reached which is nearly instantaneous with the current setup. The cyclone intake manifold is restrictive up top (probably preventing 600whp) but spools the gt35r almost immediately.
Overall, the car is absolutely insane and i consider myself fortunate to have ridden in and driven the car.
I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Re: (I Have an STD)
a few more notes...
first this car has 9's in it with slicks.
secondly, this is the first time jerry has actually had someone take pictures of the car with the intent of putting them online. he has never really advertised the car...as that is just how he is. most people would be surprised to learn that he is in his early 40's and is self employed...basically building motors and transmissions for us local dsm guys.

Re: (chet)
i should also mention the fact that the car went 10.4's with all ac components (minus ac belt). he has a set of slicks although his intentions were to run the car at the track as it is run on the street. it is hard to describe how meticulously the car has been setup so that it's performance on the street is identical to its performance on the track.

Re: (abmerop18)
hotness...mad props...though i do have a rival...my buddy Eric's car from AMS up here in chicagoland...does consistent low 10's and is daily drive. Hell i was behind him the whole trip to battle of the imports where he did a 10.3. Current turbo is a gt35r...gt42r goin in in about a week. Daily driven 9's like w0ah...its the white talon

i've seen eric on the board's...etc...and his car is sick.
the main difference between his car and jerry's is the fuel. jerry fills the car up at local gas station's and fills the methanol once every 2-3 weeks. plus i believe eric's car ran 10.3's on slicks (or et streets) which is another difference. obviously they are both insane cars...and i'm not taking anything away from eric and his talon.

before the methanol...the intercooler did have a purpose. however...with the alcohol...its probably a bit overkill. i guess i should also mention the fact that his 10.4 was done at sea level in 90 degree heat. while i'm sure a higher elevation would hurt the car's power output somewhat, the florida heat which hurt's so many of our car's doesn't really effect the mirage at all.
