DIY: EG6 yellow fog light

DIY: EG6 yellow fog light
Sure you can paint it with Krylon stain glass paint or you can retrofit using IS300. But this is just another way to do it.
What you need:
1. OEM Honda Civic 92-95 fog light kit http://robearracing.com/pd_honda_civic_9295_23.cfm
2. Lamin-x yellow sheet 4"x8" http://lamin-x.com/ColorProtection.html
3. Piaa H3 Yellow bulb http://order.store.yahoo.com/c...uw1Ts
Step 1: Remove the three screw. "Do not remove the bottom right." Flip over and then remove the four screw.

Step 2: Open it and and remove the two screw
Step 3: Spilt it where the screw is pointing at. And then this is what you will get.
Step 4: Now take you lamin-x and cut in half. So you will get two 4"x4" piece. Apply it on top and use the cover to push it in nice flush.
Step 5: Now remove the cover and trim around it with sharp knife or a hobby knife.
Step 6: Now do the same for the otherside and put everything back together. And it should look like these picture

or do it the right way. you'll never have to respray, paint, or laminate again
IS300 Foglights retro'd onto Eg brackets mounts up like it was from the factory
Note these are using factory 35w bulbs. im gonna experiment with some high wattage bulbs for different results.

I knew JDMlyfestyle was gonna post his IS300 retofit. That **** is bright as hell.

Kaiba nice write up My friend did that to his EM1. Looks nice too. I'm only concern about the high temp the bulb has on the lamiate sheet.

The temputare will not effect the lamin-x at all. Drove 1hr 30min night time with fog light on, still good and new.

haa haa cool.. damn i cant tell you how many diy there have been for the yellow fog lights...we either got way too many poor fools or alot of geniuses among us...

transformer? lol there is no transformer for Halogen lights.
mine are stocker 9006 35 w bulbs. and no i just didnt swap lense's i did a complete retrofit.
tore down the IS and the EG fog. looked everything over and started hacking away and making new mounts for the IS fog so it can mount onto the EG brackets. total of 14-16 hours total on the project.

not as good and as far as yours. its about 10-20 feet of light on the ground. but its not as spread out as yours. its more a direct beam with a slight spread toward the end.

i'll work on the camera lighting and see what i can get with my fogs and compare tomorrow night. dont expect anything special..

How do they look when they are lit? Are they yellow? Did you use yellow bulbs also?
I am curious, i may want to do this in the near future but im afraid the light wont be yellow like i would want.....

can anyone post a photo of the krylon paint version, i wanna see the difference between the two.
shoot i'd do it this way if they look the same looks so much easier to do and prolly way faster

Yes it easier and faster. No need to wait for paint to dry, no worry of over spray, and future rock chip.

time to look for some foglights now
