Bad distributor or bad sparkplug /wires?

Bad distributor or bad sparkplug /wires?
car sputters when driving/accelerating but idles just fine .
Last thing i did to it was adjust the throttle cable and clutch. The clutch i adjusted about like 1/4 turn.
after the adjustments, the car ran fine except for the fact that it was over accelerated.
I stop to fuel up, and as i'm leaving, i notice the sputtering.
I mean it sound like im driving a volkswagon.
please help1
