Default PROJECT: EF3

So my sedan build had to sadly start after my near fully-built hatch was stolen. Good thing those scum of the earth bastards didn't get a nice B18C out of it, all they got was an OBD1 B7 SOHC.

11/30/07 - Well, finally someone did exactly what they said they were gonna do i.e. come through. Money over byytches. My bad haha! Car of course is far from done, but unfortunately this thread isn't.
Live.

Peace out,
Once again, thanks for all the props, all the questions answered, and all the hands on wrenchin. All very much appreciated. Not to mention, the ones to come.

Among the first few posts you'll find the collection of ALL the updates throughout the thread. Enjoy

9/23/2004 - Heres my build-up thread from shitty to glamourus. I picked this up last January for $500 Its an 88 STD hatch. The guy didnt know what he had,he was trying to sell it for like 8 bills but i hustled him to 5. It had a DOHC ZC(he bought it that way)w/ shitty wiring,No hood,The shocks were blown to ****,Shitty APC coilovers, It needed a new tranny and clutch for sure, but did run,It had no carpet or seats, It only had the driver side seat w/ only the right side bracket intact,so only 1 bolt was holdin the piece of **** in and a BLOCK of wood was holding it up! God i wish i had pics of it as soon as i purchased it And best of all at least it had a clean title. I would never buy a salvaged car

This was after like 2 weeks,Needed new corners so i bought amber ones, the shocks were still blown, and i picked up some seats for it,added some sexy license plate covers,LOL, and my oem Honda I Love My Honda static sticker, and installed an old but gets the job done eg rear strut

on the wiring, this motor gonna see way better days when i get done w/ it

So anyways after 2 months and almost flipin this piece of **** because of running over a hidden bump in the road! Ya thats how bad my shocks were blown. The 4 sure next thing was to get my roll cage from a local Pre-runner truck ****** guuy, and i still had no seats so i was like make me some brackets...ohh man when i got the car back the same day, i loved my roll bar, but he just welded 2 bars on each side across just perfect so my uni. sliders would fit But i got the cage done for less then $200 so thats cool. I also installed my MOMO Team steering wheel and japanese L2 rapfix quick release, bought a hood for it & got some cheap rear seats.

I loved my red seats, i knew i was gonna go knock-off 4 now,but no APC ****, these are nice No-name seats...until they fell apart.

The following week, i came up on some Mugen MR-5s for it and got them wrapped in Kuhmo 712 Supras
(Theyre dirty in this pic)

No muffler, So just running open header

I wasnt feelin the raw chrome bars, the red seats w/ the POS brackets and red hood, so i decided to truck bedliner the bars and inside, also cut out the brackets and get a new Sparco Speed and do it right this time

So since i have an 88 noone makes brackets for aftermarket seats. I took it down to Long Beach and got both driver and passenger side custom brackets made from Wedge Engineering (Specailize in seat brackets)

Took them 3 days and vuaalllaaa, my seat installed. Finally after like 6 months, i have a legit seat to sit in

Pic w/ hood painted flat black

9/25/2004 - Then the upgrades were-
jdm DA xSi front brakes
Pillar bar
D-series header
jdm Ol' skool 5zigen muffler, man i love steve at HMO

Heres my header and the most ugly piece of **** and restrictive EM ever. Perfect for when i go backyard turbo, but it reminds me of E.T.

And my sexy *** muffler w/ famous Eastside Muffler 2.25 custom piping

"Only For Honda- Mugen Power"

Ohh ya 4got my new OEM Honda belt

10/5/2004 - Heres how my ride is looking now. I finally got off my lazy *** and decided to put on some of my parts....If i get time this weekend, Im gonna put in my rug and new seats

10/6/2004 - Gotta have the sexy Dc2 cupholders and arm rest

10/10/2004 - Finally my only day free of Saturday came around and me and my homies working for striaght six hours!

i got to put almost all of my **** on

Carpet before install (Thanks to Hong at AutoSonic

Homie breaking in carpet

Time 4 jdm hatch

Finally after precise cutting around my custom roll bar, its in

Damn we're good

Finished product

10/13/2004 - I got my EF si front and rear sway bars

10/16/2004 - Look at wat the ups man brought me yesterday, my new jdm ef3 cluster 210 km/h

11/1/2004 - So yea guys just wanted to let u foos know, there has been a change of plans. Finally my luck is starting up again! I came up on a 89 Civic Si HB. I am so stoked! I was gonna buy it thinkin it was 91, but it ended up being the only year Si i wanted. So no seat belts in the doors, and all my jdm **** bolts on practically. I bought it from a fellow honda-techer Hybrid89 He was moving out and has like 4 hondas and a new TSX (i.e. baller), so i came up big time. I bought it for $450 + my Black Sparco Bucket seat. Not too shabby, now i dont have to change my whole dash out and interior panels. And i have a moonroof. Its cool also because when i bought my jspec seats, i bought all of them, so i have a drivers seat and all my **** going on this ride...Wat u guys think? *pics up soon*

11/4/2004 - Sneak Peek

11/9/2004 - Heres my new '89 Civic Si. Clean title. Doesnt run, needs new oil pump or has a bent valve(this is wat the guy told me???) He says he put a brand new clutch, batt. and some other stuff. He was gonna sell it to me for the same amount when it was running, but it died on him on the freeway. He was moving and has like 3 other hondas so he needed to get rid of this. So yea i came up on it fo sho, now all my parts are going on to this one, and no need for me to get black and grey interior panels and dash board And i also luv my moonroof(No leaks!)

Need new windshield

Carbon ZC hood

12/8/2004 - Well so far Im getting the pudding ready to sell. I finally installed my 90/91 si seats in there and did a write-up Seat Pan Swap: 90/91 Si Seats in 88 HB and just started to put back on some ext. and int. parts like stock tails, hood, int. plastics....

More 2 come, Saturday is still the only day of the week i get to work on my projects

12/9/2004 - Just recieved my 88/89 JDM ZC cluster, too bad it wont be in until i get cash to swap a motor in one of my two EFs

12/10/2004 - Well 2day i got off my lazy *** and started to work on my Si. Im trying to get it all cleaned inside and out. So what i found out today was the only problem i have w/ the car, luckily. Whoever had this car b4 the guy i bought it from tried to bust a PIMP MY RIDE sound system...I found mad holes cut out underneath the pass. side seat w/ wires sticking out for like an amp, and worst of all, a goddamn rats nest of cut up wires underneath the dash and underneath the carpet along the outside of both the front seats and under the back seats as well. I found out the reason why my brake lights didnt work when i hit them, it was b/c some moron snipped the wire and i guess they tried to temp. fix it by sticking it in an empty fuse slot held in by a 20 amp fuse! You foos should have seen the back of the broken deck in person.

Here are a couple of the many wires stickin out of the carpet

The wire being held in by the 20 watt fuse

Cut brake light wire

Back of deck

The pile of wires i had to pull out from the car, Now thats a real diet.

12/16/2004 - Worked on it again today. I vaccumed the interior and under the carpet aswell and tried to fix as much ghetto rigging as i could

I guess the guy needed a power source for the wire he was running, so he ended up slicing the seatbelt light indicator.

Dont know what he was trying to do here, the wiring that runs along the driver side door.

12/28/2004 - Since my creme hb has a blown DOHC ZC and i want to sell it for more, I bought a long block for it. Im also gonna keep it for a lil longer since i only drove it for a couple of weeks after i paid $250 for it to pass the specail smog Test Only place. Aswell as see how different it feels w/ the PG7 ecu i never got to break in. I got this clean long block delivered to me last night in the freezin cold rain for under 3 bills

1/21/2005 - Aight well thats enough of that nonsense. I just finished swapping in the new DOHC ZC

Heres my art work on the fukin ice on my glass

Ohh yea dont mind my fro im growing out my hair

My girl racer wrenching

My girl racer gettin harrassed by the homie (Sharing IS caring though)

Remember my nasty engine bay and wiring???

It went from that to this, No more rats nest and No more "one can is all got, try to paint it black in 3 min." engine bay

2/17/2005 - I finally came up on some rear discs from my homies crx Si. Dont have the cables or SS brake lines yet, but we had to throw them on since he needed to get his wrecked car out of his house. So he took my drums. I also removed my exhaust to put my 5zigen on

Wat the fawk is Touring?

2/23/2005 - The pudding is finally ready to sell! My wish has been granted, i finally got a garage thats not on a hill!! My buddies familys' friend, has this shop on his many many acres of land and hasnt been used in ages..its ours to work on our Hondas anytime.

Im in the blk hat.

Later that night.

A funny *** pic of some cracked out cali boys

Now we on this ITR swap coming very soon...

Getting the pudding ready to sell (New brake pads and better condition EF Si knuckles)

Is this fool blowing a kiss???

In order to change the oil and install better condition exhaust mounts, we cleaned out the old *** oil pit.

All the rides..Are u jealous? Man, i still cant believe we got this shop

And just wanted to added a random shot on how my jaydeeum cluster lights up

2/28/2005 - Forgot to add wat just came in the mail today.

3/1/2005 - Finally got around to taking pics of the jdm glass i picked up from fourthgenhatchB17 at the last EF meet

3/19/2005 - All my JDM goodies so far... They just sittin in my room waiting for installation.

3/23/2005 - Just sold the pudding! Now I get 2 blow all this off on the Si! Stay Tuned.

3/26/2005 - Just picked these up a couple of days ago. $100 for the jdm door shells and door panels. Waiting to get my power windows

3/31/2005 - Thanks for all the comps. Just dropped my wheels off at the wheel repair shop, since 1 got a severe gash when I wrecked my sol. So they gonna repolish and resurface the lips and rivets, fix the messed up one and repair all the scratches, and respray the centers blk...all for $540, which is a great price to pay for my wheels to become brand new and look like I got them straight from the Mugen factory over 18 yrs ago

4/6/2005 - Got pics of my new daily drivers...

So now just saving up a lil more for the motor...

4/19/2005 - *UPDATE*

Picked up my TEIN Super Streets from SPECS and got my MR Fizzees back from the wheel repair shop

4/23/2005 - Got around to stripping my interior in order to fix my sunroof leak. For some reason I thought it was going to be a little more difficult, luckily i was wrong. Just a bunch of clips and random screws and the whole rear interior paneling and headliner were off. It ended up being the rear right drainage hose that was plugged with a bunch of dirt and grimme. Got the garden hose out and showered the sunroof and no leaks whatsoever now. Usually not my luck...

4/23/2005 - Got started on pulling the motor out. Got alot of work to do in order for a legit wire tuck.

5/12/2005 - Had to be proud of myself today since I actually cut out being lazy and put in some work. Finished pulling out the the D16A6...Now its time to go obd-1 and finish off the rear discs...

Is that JapJunkie's new mechanic behind the lowked out '64 SS Impala??? Out w/ the old in w/ the New

To be continued...

5/20/2005 - Finally got some flow together to order my rear trailing arm bushings and brake lines from Summit. I also went down to the junk yard and picked up my 4040 prop valve i needed in order to do my rear disc right and my air duct to connect my heater core and the blower since i removed my AC

They through in this cap! Im gonna wear everyday! yaaaaa right...

Teggy DA 4040 Proportioning Valve

The air duct

5/20/2005 - Got to workin on installing the new Energy Suspension rear trailing arm bushings today. Pass. Side done

People say you have to press out the oem bushing w/ the outer shell that surrounds the rubber, but with these bushings you dont do so. I cut out the old rubber bushing w/ an air saw, used a grinder to get all the rubber off the oem pin, lubed that bushing and pressed it in. This job only took me like half an hour. Saved myself $65 by sticking w/ these and doing the lil extra cake work then going w/ the Prothane bushings

5/24/2005 - This just in yesterday...My OBD1 jumper harness from Rywire.

11/28/2005 - Already recieved my PC680 and hold down. Cant wait to install it soon.

12/4/2005 - Got my small batt. installed and ready to go. Heres a few snaps i took of my whip getting towed to a local tuner shop out here called Kiwi Motors. They just gona finish up the car for me. Maan you peeps dont know how envious I am of you guys, just being able to drive a Honda, watever it might be a sohc non vtec DX HF..u name it EF or newer...just as long as its a honda compact goot damn. I cant believe i drove my 77 beetle that long to make it seem like my reg ride. My car is finally going to be running after over a year! Should be done this coming week. Its amazing how excited i am just to get my sohc non vtec whip on the road.

12/12/2005 - So proud to see her make it to her first EF meet

Busted out a pressure washer and decided to clean up some of the undercarriage and engine bay. Sitting outside w/ no hood for a year, collected a **** load of dust and ****...Here are the pics

B4

After

Nice and Clean...

3/27/2006 - Finally got a garage to temporarily work on the whips!! I HEART MY Gma! lol We recently helped my Gma move closer to our family by moving into nearby condos. She doesnt drive, so I got an empty garage she was willing to offer me

Got a pic of me transportin the rex over there yesterday. Decided to use a flat bed in order to manuver her better. Heres a pic of the idiot tow truck driver pushing my rex up and over my tow dolly almost into my truck! If I wasnt there, the guy wud have never gotten it off. It was cool though, nuttin happend and as long as it was AAA free, Im straight.

4/2/2006 - So ya shortly after getting a garage to work on the rex. Shes SOLD!

Took some random pics prior to next mod

Not sure about the ground wire, but it looked better there than in its original spot.
7/7/2006 - So finally today after a few hours, some of the last touches before its makeover!! Motor is out.. So stoked.

Wasnt able to get pics of the whole process, but heres some. Looks so much better wire tucked.

7/14/2006 - Some sneek peeks of the front end. Already loaded up on the dolly and ready to get some new skin.

7/17/2006 - Finally some whack azz pics from drop off point.

8/1/2006 -

Ill prolly be waitng like 3-4 months for this to come in...

8/5/2006 - Hit the damn freeways of So. Cal today...

Picked up my mirrors from JHP

Hit the road again to my body shop for some progress pics and to drop off some parts.

Wanted to show you peeps that there are diamonds in the rough, Grade A quality body shops, even in the hood of L.A.

Finally gots a decent pic of my new DD over hurr in the mid west

Sorry guys, its just i was away at college in butt ***** Kansas, now Im back and tryin to stay for good. One too many semesters over there, not even gona finish the whole school year. Kansas is lame, So Cal is where its at.

Now here are some damn teaser pics from my lame *** LG phone...to tell you the truth, the color didnt come out to what I wanted, was supposed to be more grey then green Im happy though, its a great job, engine bay and all, just needs a few more things before I can put it back together for the road. and OMG once my MR Fizzees are on, its gona be sex for sure.

Got some more pics for your damn eyes..haha. Check this.

Another crazy azz day in L.A. The corner of Adams Blvd. and Dunsmuir. Right in front of my bodyshop, there was a homicide scene. Like directly across the street, it was nuts yo. There was a cop like a lil up the street, making sure no pedestrians crossed the yellow tape or something. when I took a pic he saw the flash and looked directly at me, it brought a smirk to my face and i was like Im only a human w/ a camera. anyways, this is what i heard from the from shop owner. A Latino and a Black dude, fought over a chick and it ended up w/ both of 'em capping eachother. Both fools ended up souless. What idiots. It was crazy watching a REAL live version of CSI or sumshyt. They rolled a body to the van, it wasnt no ambulance, it was a coroner van, they had some tent over the body where you could only peek underneath it if your directly in front of the body, i was starring while peeps spoke over it. Not Television, no video cameras around, this was real life ****. Dunno anymore details. Hope their families are okay..

Well, while talking over some things, a parts dude rolls by. Just like the fact the only parts my shop gets are OEM. A bunch of Cadillac CTS parts arrived.. Just the headlight assembly alone is $1100 +

Heres some suga..

Now, back at home and not in the hood. I open my shed to realize its a whole damn shed full with nuttin but high quality EF parts..japanese, domestic, genuine..all for my damn EF. Cant wait to slap em all on and free up some space.

3/17/07 ..And it was out St. Patty's Day.

WTF is on my ***!

L.A. Fresh..

pretty cheap, i pretty much paid for the metal, i took my car to his pad and he has a mandrel pipe bender in his backyard. i asked well what design can we do w/ the cage, he replied anything i want i was like hell yea, but i just kept it simple and did a regular slightly diff. roll bar. Im gonna add on to to it later, like make it a full cage 6 point. I was the 1st Honda/Import he ever did, Hes all into to those Pre-runner trucks, like no front bumper and no rear bed just a whole mess of bars, they go jump high as **** in deserts and ****.

More pics comin...

Looks crooked but aint, i live on a hill (ill take pics of flat ground...)
