Just got a retune!! WOOT!! <READ ME>
UPDATED 08/28/2006
Went to Rockfalls Raceway! Only got 4 runs, here's the slip, i'm on the right 8)
R/T : .318
60 : 1.776
330 : 5.097
1/8 : 7.889
MPH : 89.75
1000: 10.318
1/4 : 12.371
MPH : 108.84
After a long day at the drag strip, why not feast on some good pho! I took the Super Bowl challenge: "If you finish your bowl, it's free."
I put a quarter next to the bowl of Pho as a size reference. 8)
....and no...I didnt finish. I owed 'em $7.00. 8)
Last Friday drove 5+hours to do a re-tune with Dave at the Whip Factory. Before I show the results this how it was for 2 years:
This is what it dyno'd at, almost 2 years ago: 274hp@7600, 204tq@6200
B18C1 -STOCK
Max Rev Log manifold
Garret T3/T04E 57trim, .60/63 a/r
RC 550cc injectors
10psi
Hondata S200b
I did a compression check two weeks ago and all four cylinders still read 240psi.
I personally didnt like the two stage gs-r manifold and so I opted for the single stage AEBs in hopes of better mid-range and a little better top-end. IT WAS A BITCH TO GET THE AEBs TO WORK!! END OF STORY(but if you'd like to know..ask). The AEBs actually hurt my performance slighty and thus needed a retune. Dave did a base run on what the car was making after 2 years + AEBs manifold: 277hp and 198tq | +3hp and -6tq (so if it was still the stock GS-R manifold, it probably would've been close to the graph above)
NOW FOR THE TUNE YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR!!
The GM 3 bar map sensor I got was junk, so our only option was to run stock map sensor and trick the system. It was a HOT DAY!! 96*, 37% humidity. After about 8 runs +2lbs of boost we ended up at a lovely: 319hp@8300rpm, 227tq@6550rpm
B18C1 -STOCK INTERNALS, AEBs Intake Manifold/Thermal Gasket
Max Rev Log manifold
Garret T3/T04E 57trim, .60/63 a/r
RC 550cc injectors
12psi
A/F was mid 11s
Hondata S200b
My personal comment: I LOVE IT!, drives like night and day difference!! two for Dave 8)
videos are coming....
All comments are welcomed!! Now if you'll excuse me...i think it's time for another go at Super Bowl Pho at Asian Deli in Wausau, Wi:

I'm running RC 550cc saturated injectors; i'm not sure about the timing but my a/f was mid 11s. No quarter mile times yet, but the best I did with my old setup was 13.1@106mph with a 2.2 60'.

Haha, it would be a miracle if my father asked me to turbo his DC5! In fact, he drove my car not too long ago for the first time. When he got back he complained quite a bit, especially about a "wooshh" sound coming from the engine bay and about how stiff the ride was. 8)

Re: (mRek9R)
my dyno graph looks real similar to your original, stock b18c with revhard mani, precision sc34. it is kinda choppy and i can feel it. your new tune looks a lot smoother. did you make any other changes? were you tuning with the same program? or do you attribute the power gain to the increased boost and IM. or did dave just put a way better tune on it?
i really need to make a few changes to my setup and get retuned. hopefully i can put down some similar numbers.

In Dave's own words, "...The first tune was a ***** tune....I'm a much better tuner than I was 2 years ago"
The only changes were the AEBs manifold and +2lbs of boost.
We did runs with the AEBs at 10psi and i think it made 288hp and 210tq before we started messing with the boost. I'm waiting for Dave to email me the rest of the charts so I can do a comparison.
Yea, the power curve is sooooo much better and like you said, much smoother. Even driving around town is much better, highway and full throttles are amazing! 8)

Yes, by just swapping the IM w/o tuning I lost noticable power. I compared the two graphs and it does show that i lost quite a bit:
STOCK VS AEBs
4K: 110hp 140tq | 110hp 135tq
5k: 180hp 185tq | 175hp 180tq
6k: 230hp 200tq | 210hp 180tq
7k: 260hp 190tq | 255hp 185tq
8k: 260hp 160tq | 270hp 180tq
I'm still waiting on Dave to email me the graphs of the tuned AEBs, it was much better and I gained quite a bit of midrange and topend while keeping the low end pretty much the same. I think we ended up with 288hp and 210tq; but i'm not 100% sure. Need that graph to find out! I'll end up making a post about GS-R manifold vs AEBs manifold and post up dyno charts. 8)

Nice numbers man. I have a GSR motor with a SC50 .48 a/r, and I'd be happy to see similar numbers.
