Default Oil Burning

Hi guys,

i have an Integra DC2(96) and have noticed my oil burning, i find myself having to put in 2L (aprox) every 2weeks depending on how i drive it (But would have to double check amount being used).

I have had a compression teset done and been told their are no leaks, my teg does have alot of mods but unsure if this would cause an issue? does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong? stem seals or rings? I have noticed blue smoke coming from the exhaust when i V-Tech if that helps.

Thanks

Kammy

Kammy eh? Never heard of that name before.

A few things to check.

Oil can get into the system from the head gasket, passing the oil rings, and valve stems seals.

If a compression test came out good then you can say your head gasket is fine. The only way to verify if its the valve seals or the rings is to do a leak down test.

However if the oil rings are bad normally you can see smoke at idle or smoke when the gas is held at constantly (meaning it smokes all the time). Valve stem seals normally leak at startup or when your blip the throttle up, but then stop. Its not constant. But this isn't always 100% true.

i have the same issue, theres no oil burning at startup or at steady rpm but if i push it a little it burns just a tad, if i push it alot and get into vtec it starts burning, the higher the rpm the more it burns.

also if i let off the throttle anything above 3500 rpm for a few seconds and hit the throttle again a puff of smoke comes out the exhaust, also at the high rpms i can see it bellowing out smoke out of the muffler...

please tell me thats just valve stem seals and hopefully not guides, last time i did a compression test and leakdown the compression was 230-240 across and leakdown was less then 7% across that was 6 months ago when it first started getting out of control

oh yea sorry to thread jack, just dont want to create a new one with the same subject

If anyone wants to know, my 01 ITR with i/h/2.5 straight through exhaust burns a bit too, i will get a bit of dark greyish smoke when getting up higher in vtec and letting off. I actually have a video of it revving up from awhile ago but im not sure how to post it lol.
