just swapped a fresh ls/vtec into my crx, is got all new seals and gaskets and built bottom end, i have a oil leak coming from around the oil pump, not exactly sure from where, i made the gasket for the oil pump with rtv all around, its a preety big leak...should i remove the crank pulley to see where its really coming from???
anyone had this problem??

i get the feeling you didnt measure any clearences .
did you check the oil pump to make sure the o-ring was good ? did you check the seal on the oil pump that the crank slides into ? take a picture

isnt that o-ring/seal you are talking about the same thing???
its a brand new oil pump so i didnt really check.

the seal does not come with the pump you buy it. its redish in color

the seal came with my oil pump, do i have to put rtv around it or something?

your missing a black oring at the left most tip of the pump.
also when you install the pump you need to check for .002 clearence all the way around the crankshaft seal

doesnt leak from the seal, toook the crank pulley off today
most likely is coming from that o ring, dont understand why, i have rtv gasket maker all over that shit

yes you need that o-ring as pisture above in #18
RTV sealant isnt going to cut it PERIOD you have oil that flow thru that part of the pump

no problem make sure you have ATLEAST two .002 feeler guages
when checking the end play of the crank seal place the feeler guages on opposite sides of each other and walk them around the crank seal

yo dude, everything went smooth, cranked the car back up, no leaks at all, drove it around for the first time cameback and there was no leaks.
i have a small little tiny leak that i beleive is coming from the oil pan gasket, i bought a cheap ebay one so that might be it. but its no biggie thanks for the help

You must tighten the oil pan bolts/nuts in a specific sequence to even the pressure applied to the gasket. I've used a cheap Autozone oil pan gasket in the past, install it correctly and have no leaks.

well dude, i tighten them in that sequence and i figured that it wanst leaking anything, it was just oil there from when my oil pump was still leaking fallin on my driveway.
so my ebay gasket is good.
