Default Ignition timing question.

I have a b16b in my eg hatch and the idle stays around 1200
i got a chipped ecu in it and no vacuum leaks at all.
i need to set the ignition timing but where do i set it since it is not around 750?

Double check for leaks in the intake manifold gasket, check timing marks on the belt, and make sure you didn't accidentally mix up the TPS and MAP plugs.

Does it bog while under load (in gear) for the first little bit, then pick up fine after about 3krpm or so? If it does that, try swapping out your MAP sensor.

like ill be pulling out of somewhere and it will be in 1st going fine and i go to 2nd cruising and it feels like the car is slightly loosing and then gaining power
the motor is a stock b16b with b16 tranny with a chipped p06 with a jdm itr basemap.
my budy said it needs to be tuned and will run like crap on a basemap.
still it should be hesitating and idleing high.

Find out what the issue is before you even think about getting tuned. You need a stock ecu to help narrow that down though . I bought a h22 swapped accord like a month ago with a S100 on a P28 in it was running like shit till I put a stock P13

So why are you looking for one then? Yes it will it'll run fine enough to help you resolve your issue. so what if it doesnt run to its full potential thats what a tune is for.

As you adjust the ignition timing, your idle will change *slightly*. If you have a timing light, and your ignition timing is correct, I would try an OEM ECU. I wouldn't trust that basemap.

As others stated, get the idle correct before tunning.
