Default 2006 divic dx - Tail light off (brake, turn signal okay / not dash: fuse 15)

Hi guys,

My tail light has been completely off for about couple weeks. Not sure, what's the problem. Both the turn signal and brake light work fine.

I checked:

1.) bulb are both brand new
2.) check under the dash fuse box / fuse: 15
3.) my friend says the power is not coming to the bulb (he checked)

Any help? Hints?

There's also a fuse box under the hood...check that one.

All right, so we can basically skip #1.

B+ (batter power) first goes through fuse #12 (15A) in the under-hood fuse/relay box. So, you need to start there. Since "the power is not coming to the bulb," this is the likely culprit.

Check that first. Other culprit could be the brake pedal position switch, but no need to check that before you check the fuse.

were you ever in an accident with the car? if you were that would give you a start point of where to look for a broken wire.. you have to find where the wire comes from.. start from the front of the car where it first connects after the fusebox, check power there.. if you have power, just start working your way back to connectors and keep checking.

what does the brake switch have to do with the TAIL LIGHT BULB.?

Because p. 110-7 of the 06-07 ETM says that power flows through the brake pedal position switch to the load which is "[left/ right] brake light/ tail light."

It could be I'm looking at the wrong schematic.

Original poster, is your DX a coupe or sedan? Are you referring to the inner tail light?
