Need Advice on 2008 Fit« » Reply  Edit

Hello,

I usually post in the 2006+ Civic forum, but am about to purchase a new 2008 Honda Fit Sport and was looking for some advice on Price.

I live in the Silicon Valley area of California and am working a deal on a new 2008 Fit Sport w/Maunal Tranmission. The out the door price I am working these guys towards is $16,500. $16,500 is my hard number, but I don't know if this is still too much to pay for this car.

Can anyone tell me if this is a good deal or not?

Thanks

well i dont know about florida maybe they have cheaper tax and liscense i dont know...but im working a deal here in south oc and the best price i got is 17k out the door and 3 other dealers have straight up told me they will not beat that price....so if i were you id take anything better then 17k final.

good luck

by the way what color are you looking for?

hey man, i'm in the south bay and i just bought a new fit sport auto at the costco price which is under MSRP.......invoice is 600 under MSRP, so the dealerships don't make a ton of money on a single car if they are selling at MSRP, they make money on volume sold and selling over if they can.

i couldn't find any other dealers that could beat that price, so 16.5K might be hard (and to answer your question, 16.5K OTD is a great deal.....because that would mean you are getting the car for 15K before tax, license, and registration which is 300+ under invoice).........., maybe the prices of the 08's will go down once the 09's start coming out?

Good luck most Fit's in the Valley are marked up unless you use the Costco pricing or AAA pricing. I was firm on my number at 16,400 and no dealer would even come close. I ended up paying over MSRP from Steven's Creek Honda. I wanted a sport but ended up with a base SSM in a manual. I don't remember the OTD price but I don't care as I love my Fit and the gas milage.

If you are paying 16.5 out the door (meaning tax title and plate) you are getting a great deal, period.

I bought my Fit Sport in March of 08 at Norm Reeves Super Honda in Cerrittos for 16,600 OTD with free wheel locks....

If you are in SoCal, good luck in finding one without a "markup" due to shortage of stock.

Cheapest one I saw in San Diego for a Fit Sport last week was 17,900 plus everything else... good luck in finding one...

try to find a dealer without the markup first then work them down with no accessories on the car. I'm in oregon so taxes and blah are all diff but i just lied and like Dealer X said they can get it to me for 400 over MSRP, but i hear you guys are alot easier to deal with to if you can give me that price or beat it i'll buy it on the spot. Blah blah I talked them down from 18.300 with no accessories to 16,500. Then i got em to add all weather package, buncha trim accents in and out side the car, rear bumper applique, wheel locks, shift knob, lifetime oil changes, a clear bra and key chains for another 800 bucks. so that long list of stuff for 17,300 OTD.

i gotta NHBP 5Sp Sport btw

yes boost and rhd is dangerous. i crash daily, some times i die. the fact that its a 4 door makes it a little more unsafe.

There's no link for it. You have to go to costco.com and click your way through so that you can find dealerships in your area that work with costco......then you will call or e-mail them, and they will give you pricing.

Thanks I found it, I haven't really looked all into it tho, is the price costco gives you the price out the door after taxes, fees ect? I doubt it tho.

a few weeks ago my gf and i were looking for a fit as well, markup price anywhere in socal is $2,000. They quoted us $18,000 out the door, i really coudln't believe it was that expensive for a small fit. We ended up buying a 08 NBP Civic ex coupe auto, soon to be a complete si clone.
