interesting. the polka dots looks bad (not the colors, but hte execution) you should have used a stencil or something. but props for the attempts.

what paint did you use? and did you brush on the polka dots?

im either going to get my GFs fit cover painted VBP (already have it off, just need time to drop it off at the paint shop) or im going to use duplicolor's metal cast (blue).
will post pics when done.

the base white paint is just normal old spray paint. We used acrylic paint and a stencil to do the polka dots. The one dot that pissed me off is the blue one in the bottom right but other than that it turned out pretty damn good

so i went home during lunch and did some work...
duplicolor metallic blue (base)

duplicolor metal specks ocean blue (top coat)

it started to get a little too dark, so i hit it with some more metallic blue:

finished product (with a few coats of clear):

edit:
installed and w/ VTEC badge

Why? Its ugly without the cover.... But still looks better than the WeaponR intake manifold.

Just repainted mine a week or so ago. Before it was fluorescent orange.

*LAUGHS!*
It was only one leaf. I just reused it for each color.

Thanks a lot.

Finally got around to this evolution of my engine cover this week. Went from this last one

Worked for a couple of days using just my dremel tool, some metal files, and sandpaper and here it is no more bumps now it's as smooth as a Hookers "cue ball". While I was wasting time waiting for paint to dry I also decided to "spruce up" the fuse box cover to match.

OOOpppss went a little too far and my Vtec badge that was just taking up space has gone missing. But never mind I "transplanted" this one from the hatch lid to here. It seems like the "Honda" logo also is among the missing.

It's really hard to take photos of it now because the shinny paint reflects light like a mother.

In this shot you can really see the metallic particles in this paint.

One more "Art shot".
