Looks really nice, but I'm glad I got my GD3 now. I was thinking about waiting for the new one but life comes at you fast.Hopefully the new motor has 119 or 120 HP but should get just as good if not better gas mileage.

What is your logic behind that? The currect 1.5L is a VTEC engine and does not require premium. i-VTEC is just a newer style of the variable valve timing and does not mean premium fuel only. | Quote, originally posted by Blue-Civic-Hybrid » | Hopefully the new motor has 119 or 120 HP but should get just as good if not better gas mileage. |
I do believe the new 1.5L will have 120HP. I would like to see the EPA estimates for it as well.

How does the navigation work? Does one have to subscribe to it like OnStar? Or is like a Garmin where the only cost is the initial purchase and expansion chips?

i-VTEC stands for intelligent vtec while we have E-VTEC which stands for economy. the E only requires regular gas while I requires premium com'on this is VTEC 101

LOL I hope you're kidding. The "intelligent" bit refers to the variable camshaft phasing. It has nothing to do with the type of fuel required. The VTEC-E in the older Fits opens only one intake valve at low rpm, and opens both at higher rpm.

Actually I believe it is supplied by Garmin. But, it is not a subscription service like OnStar. It has preloaded maps and the new ones support voice recognition, too if i'm not mistaken.

Pretty sure its NOT made by Garmin. I know the previous generation Honda/Acura NAV units were made by Alpine. The only thing common with Garmin and whoever makes Honda/Acura NAV is they both use map databases from the same company (NAVTEQ).

I didn't say it was made by Garmin. I said the NAV was supplied by Garmin; meaning the map database.

You are still wrong. NAVTEQ makes the map database for Garmin. I belive NAVTEQ was acquired by Nokia.

Roger. Would be weird if Nokia acquired NAVTEQ since they supply Verizon wireless with NAVTEQ live travel. unless Nokia and Verizon are

I like the features of the 2009 model, and will more than likely be buying one.Armrest ftw! That said, I like the looks of the 07-08 model more. That bump on the headlight, where the parking light is, looks hideous. Also, I don't like the taillights on the '09. But, when you consider the slight bump in hp and torque, along with the interior improvements (folding seat bottoms, USB input, steering wheel mounted controls, etc.) my decision is definitely leaning much more toward the '09. Does anyone know what the non-navigation stereo & dash will look like?

Some one is missing the point, the fit was concived as a small, economical$, gas saver car, and I liked that. But now with navigation, the huge moon roof, expensive interior the part of been cheap is gone....the $14, 15K price is history......

Yeah I hear ya. I'm loving what the 09 Fit has to offer but price is a major issue for me so if an 09 Fit Sport Manual without navigation is gonna run me over 17k then I'll have to grit my teeth and get an 08.

You can add a quality Zeta armrest for about $60.00 in the current GD3. And for me, at least, the engine output difference isn't that much for me. 9hp and 21lb. ft of torque. My daily commute wouldn't see too much of a difference. I do like the fact that there are no longer read headrests that block my view. And while the rear was roomy enough, I am actually glad they axed the spare for more cargo space and created more rear seat leg room. 10 cup holders though!? Holy gees! lol While I don't think I am in any position to trade my 2nd 2007 in on an 09, I would like to ride/drive in one to see how they softened the ride and see if the cabin noise is comparable. The glass roof has to be cool. It reminds me of the old days w/ my Integra and its sunroof. I am curious to know how many they plan on selling here in the States. One review stated that for 2008 Honda plans 70,000 due to high popularity. Despite some not to pleasing areas I think the overall improvements are good. MSRP is going to be the only deciding factor for people on this car. If I could have the 09 Sport w/ navi and the whole 9 yards for $15k, I'd do it.
