Tuning with CROME?« » Reply  Edit

Now that we have this nice section for ECU Tuning, could someone post a beginners 'how to tune' on CROME? I'm a DIY kind of guy and want to tuen my engine on CROME myself.

I think it'd be very helpful for everyone if someone with some tuning experience could run through how they street tune a car.

Thanks!

Great info! Thanks!

Would it be a good idea to make a sticky with this kind of info for the more popular management systems?

Only thing I would change about that write-up is to make it explicitly and undeniably clear what a base map is. It's not something you load up to your ecu and drive around with. It can be counted to get the car started and idling, or at least get you close enough that with some adjustments you can get the engine started.

I would not even trust loading one stock calibration onto another ECU. There are so many configuration options that aren't available in the software that I seriously doubt it gets transferred over. There is a lot more to a calibration than the fuel and ignition maps.

My interest in Crome and Uberdata was just that I wanted to view OEM calibrations. But then I realized that you can't see things like IACV frequency and motor rates, coil dwell, VTEC hysterisis points, etc etc etc.

My motor doesn't exist.
