you wont be able to use the f22 headers, f22=0 00 0 while h22= 0 0 0 0. i think do the swap and save up for a couples months and turbo the bitch outta it!!!

thanks for the good information guys. Yea, I am constantly in touch with different people all the time and some even told me not to use synthetic because the oil is less dense than regular motor oil creating issues with leaks. Would it be smart to use synthetic in the transmission?Any advice on plug wires? Aftermarket? Stock? I figured the NGK iridium plugs will do just fine for what I need. All of the rest of the things i will do new oem, keep the compatibility issues to a minimum. With the header, the one I have now was an aftermarket, but has rusted beyond aesthetics, therefore I was told to avoid that, I should not purchase ceramic but stainless steel? Any info on that. I am not looking for anything outrageously priced, should I still stick with DC or Greddy, or is there someone else making something worth buying these days?

okay, lets cut some of the fat out of this steak of a topic. first off, you do not need NGK iridiums, oem plugs will last a hell of a lot longer than the iridiums, with that being said. oem plugs are cheap and perform just as well as the rest. yes get a rear main seal, cam seal, crank seal, upper and lower spark plug tube seals, valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, intake manifold gasket, exhaust manifold gasket, tensioners, timing belt, water pump, balancer belt, alternator belt, ps belt (if applicable)
oem oil filter, 4 quarts of 5w30, 4-5 quarts of honda manual transmission fluid. you dont need new injectors, you dont need a new fuel rail, you don't need a turbo, you don't need any of garbage some of the people listed on here really. i just gave you the clean sweep. and if i were you i would take advice from the following quoted people:
| Quote, originally posted by steerh67 » | | throw a rear main seal on that list | check | Quote, originally posted by thabao » | | you wont be able to use the f22 headers, f22=0 00 0 while h22= 0 0 0 0. | check | Quote, originally posted by Heinekenf22 » | | convert to an h23 tensioner (recommended) look that up | check | Quote, originally posted by TheMuffinMan » | eh a new auto tensioner is just as fine. I believe the FAQ's go over everything | and mate as for your header, if this is an average joe build you dont need to spend $335 on a header for 6hp gain if that, the $39.99 ebay stainless steel header will do just fine, just ask the guy last quoted in my post. good luck op

Thanks for the information. The header was a question I had that was lingering because I didnt think I could justify the large dollar amount. The rear main seal i'll add to my list, and of course the other parts you mentioned along with mostly stock items instead of aftermarket. How about belts? Does someone make stronger belts than what comes with these motors stock?

Thanks for the heads up and very candid information. I do have a few more questions. The H22 obd1 with the LSD transmission, is it worth paying the extra to get the LSD?The other thing is this, with the parts im gonna change out, i'll do all OEM Honda, just so i'm getting the quality parts that belong in this motor, got a good site online or a heads up on where I can get some good Honda OEM parts at a good deal?

i'm an asshole about my oem parts i dont want them unless they're packaged with red letters that spell out HONDA. so i would tell you go to a dealership. but if you dont want to http://www.tasauto.com has came through for many people time and time again so i would recommend them to you. as far as the lsd...fun fun but like TS said you dont really need it.

DIAF But it's true, I had the cash up front ready to go for it, but the motor depot told me that 9/10 they were getting had been gutted in transit or were broken. So I went with a stock non-lsd tranny

No LSD then, the car will mainly be a daily driver, or a mileage baby, just want the extra pep of the H22 but also want bulletproof reliability...ive noted all of the parts you've mentioned, anything we've left out?I am still not sure which clutch and flywheel combo to go with, can you suggest some?

Have you guys ever heard of legal speed designs? So far, they have given me a good price on both a clutch kit and a flywheel. I am thinking of going with their pieces.
