Default B Series Inlet Port Shape & Flow

I have here before me a PR3 head with a blown chamber that i decided i would use to benefit the Honda community. Im going to put a standard 30,45,60 VJ on the inlet side and try 3 different port shapes on each cylinder, all varying in characteristics. This experiement will address several issues i have seen brought up on this forum.

1. Sharpened port divider vs Radius'ed port divider.

2. Hacked Guide Bosses and Guides - how much CFM is it worth over a streamlined boss?

3. Stock Chamber vs. Modded Chamber flow gains?

4. Port entry modication - Worth any flow at all?

I am open to suggestions as for anything else you guys would like to see adressed. As far as the flow duties, it looks like it will be handled by Tom @ Portflow. I have access to another flowbench, but it is my former employer and id rather have someone who i am not associated with flow the head.

Is this something that everyone would like to see?

Also, i just want to add , this will be a CFM comparison only. Which port flows the most air. That does not necessarily mean thats the best port shape for every setup. It means it has the most potential for HP, if everything else is optimized.

I wouldn't do it with that head. Since you're behind the times, I'll send you a Z6 head to do it on.

Rip the short turn and epoxy up the roof around the guide boss.

You had time to do all those tests and input the data, but you cant respond to my PM's?

Oh well, these results will be made public, i like the idea of good VJ w no portwork. What constitutes a good VJ to people on here?

Essentially doing away with the short turn and shifting the entire port down? The air still has to turn when it gets to the seat, and starting the turn before the seat is thought to be beneficial. Thats a good one too, though.

As far as the seat width, i was thinking of just doing the standard .040 (1mm) width.

Modded chamber, i just meant blending the sharp edges into the chamber.

Re: Brad's Testing, i completely understand why he doesnt post his results.
