Kosei K1's are a hell of a buy, very nice wheels to have on either the street or track.
Whatever supposed weakness exists because they are cast they make up for with low cost.
Oh, and by the way: I have never broken a Kosei. I have been able to break an expensive forged Spoon wheel, although I must admit that it had been used very badly for many thousands of miles.
You can help the lifespan of Kosei wheels by using hubcentric rings. Every K1 I have ever seen was not Honda-hubcentric. It's not vital to have the rings, but it helps if you're interested in the wheel's lasting as long as possible.

Just call Tire Rack and tell them you need them for Kosei K1's being used on a Honda or Acura.
They have plastic ones for road use and aluminium ones for track use.
The plastic ones can melt if you're fast.
The metal ones are cheap. Not a major expense.

Sorry to bring this one back up. Anyone have a picture of the +45 offset vs the +38? I want to get the K1s in white but they only come in +38 from which I understand sticks out more, which I don't want.

Re: your opinion on Kosei K1's?
im thinking about getting these K1's this week.
Over the past 2.5 years has anyone had any problems with them.
Thank you Toyomatt84 for inspiring me to log in and post under accord2civic2prelude, just to annoy you.
but seriously, anyone have any issues with these k1's?

I've had them on for about 9 years now, extensively tracked, wheel-to-wheel raced, bounced off of tire walls, cars, and in one case landed a direct hit on the tire from another Integra from behind without bending. I recently inspected them all and found no cracks or other signs of wear. They still balance just fine. Paid for themselves several times over, fantastic wheel.

Great feedback.
I've seen a lot of discussion surrounding the K1's regarding strength. Most of the people vote that it is a very strong wheel. End of the day it is an affordable wheel that looks great. I just picked up a set myself for the track.

Hey Marine, I see you never got an answer to your question. Well I'll leave a brief testimonial for you and others about my K-1's:
