I need to actually get myself a camber kit for the accord since its gotten a complete new suspension (pM sent). I took out the ground controls and the AGX's. I always heard about this washer trick but are there any down sides to it?

I don't see why there are any downsides to it, I just did the same thing on my crx, works great. Even having extra honda bolts and washers laying around made it even better!

interesting, i think if i can get a cheap camber kit then thats what im gonna use. If i cant then this bolt trick doesnt seem to tricky. I'm sure i can figure it out. The only other question i can throw out there is this, how will i know when the negative camber is no longer? Would i have to keep loosening and tightening and adding washers till its right?

the car has almost perfect camber, the wheels you could see are straighter, and it literally took maybe and hour start to finish plus an alignment. I did it at my friends shop so we aligned it there. Buying from advance cost me a total of $7 for everything.

Any idea how many washers you would use for a 94LX lowered on H&R Sports? I've heard 2 washers for every inch dropped and others say 1 washer for 1 inch dropped. Not sure which is right. H&R Sports are supposed to be about a 1-1/2" to 1-3/4" drop.

| Quote, originally posted by jbkiksass69 » | To start off, I did this on a 95 accord ex 4dr lowered on Apexi WS coilovers. Use at your own risk. This is a fairly easy fix for your rear camber. Here are the materials needed: 4 M10 x 1.25 x 50mm long bolts. Use atleast grade 8 if not higher. The grade 8s can be bought at advanced auto, but you have to ask for them. You will also need washers. I used smaller washers to fine tune it. The washers I used were SAE 3/8" (9,5 mm). I used 7 washers on each bolt, which fixed ~-2.15 and ~-2.06 on the rear. It took about 3 to take out a degree in camber. The stock bolts can take up to 3 on each bolt, I would not go any farther than that. Those are the new washers and the old small inadequate bolt.
Here goes:1. Jack up the rear of your car and support with jack stands or two jacks. Make sure it is stable as the bolts my need a little persuasion. 2. Remove on wheel and you should see the bolts as pictured 4. Take them out and put the washers on the other side of the are against the body to push out the wheel. This will take two hands, one to hold the washers, and one to feed the bolt through. 5. Tighten the bolts back by hand pretty tight, replace the wheel, repeat on the other side, and then TAKE IT TO GET ALIGNED!! Hope that helps everyone |
wat was the drop on that accord?

that should work, just buy a package of washers and see what works. i had the benefit of doing it at a shop with an alignment rack. just dont worry too much about it, and buy more washers than you need by getting the box of them, i didnt buy them individually, return what you dont use
