Winter coming, studless tire suggestions?
My tires are bald as ****, and with winter coming I definitely need to replace them. I want some suggestions for studless tires that will do well in winter conditions while still being good for summer daily driving, currently I'm running either 195/40/16 or 205/40/16s BFGs, I don't remember exactly and I'm too lazy to go check. Should I stick with the same tire size? Why/why not?
edit// car is a boosted 00 civic si, wheels are 16" konig remembers, not really positive of offset or anything but if it's needed I can go take em off a little later tonight. thanks everyone

The best 16" tire size for your car is either 205/45-16 or 215/45-16. You should NOT use 195/40-16 or 205/40-16; both are too small for your car. (They are much smaller in diameter than your stock size of 195/55-15, so they throw off the accuracy of the speedometer/odometer, they look funny, etc.)
I do not recommend using studless winter tires in the summer. Since you need to use these tires all year round, get all-season tires, rather than winter tires.
I recommend any of these three all-season tires which are available in 205/45-16:
Kumho Ecsta ASX
BFGoodrich g-Force Super Sport A/S
Continental ExtremeContact DWS
The Kumho is significantly less expensive than the other two, so that would be the reason for making it my top pick of the three. Tire Rack has a special offer with a $50 rebate on a set of four, through November 19. The Tire Rack price after rebate is $67.50/tire, vs $102 for the Continental and $105 for the BFG, plus shipping.
