whats the best 195 50 15 tire?
Hey guys, i'm about to buy some 195 50 15's for my jdm sir-s 15x5.5 rims.
I have been doing a ton of research trying to decide which tires to go with.
I kind of came to a decision towards yokohama s-drives.
but now am hearing that they get really loud???
anyone have some good advice on those tires? or what tire is the best to go with?
I don't want falken azenis as they're 205's, bad in rain, and have low treadlife,
but I also don't want kumho ecstas that have good tread life, and are horrible in rain.
Just want a tire w/ 300 + tread, sticky in dry or rain, and doesn't get loud.
I personally have never had tires that were "loud" so I'm not sure why some ppl are saying the yokos get loud.....
thanks.

Re: whats the best 195 50 15 tire?
I have the Yokohama S.Drives on my street wheels for my AutoX car. They are a very good "ultra high performance" tire. Great with dry and wet traction. As for road noise, I don't notice anything that's unusual. My car is a bit noisy with the exhaust and the wind noise when driving would definitly drown out any tire noise... I honestly wouldn't be too concerned about it..
The only other tire in that category I have experience with and can suggest is the Kumho Ecsta SPT's. I had these prior to the S.Drives and did an HPDE event at the track and an AutoX on them. I liked these tires better than the S.Drives. Seemed to be just a tad bit better in the rain and as far as performance in AutoX, the SPT's handled heat better. But in your case you probably don't need to worry about that. If you can find the SPT's in 195/50R15, I'd suggest those over the S.Drives. However, both tires are VERY similar in all aspects. You probably wouldn't notice any difference..
