Default Summer Wheel Considerations

As we move out of winter and into the warm summer months, many drivers desire something a little more fashionable for their vehicle. New wheels and tires are the easiest way to make your vehicle suit your style desires.

Many popular wheels are available and many new wheels are hitting the market place. The Enkei Classic Series offers many fantastic options like the J-Speed and the Apache II, both a favorite for the EG and DC Honda and Acura chassis vehicles. Sparco offers the multi-spoke Assetto Gara wheels in an array of colors to suit anyone. OZ Racing is offering OZ Leggera HLT which is a very good looking wheel that compliments a late model Honda or Acura vehicle. Also, don't overlook the new OZ Racing Omnia wheel in response to the BBS SR wheel.

For those looking for track applications, Advanti Racing recently released their Storm wheel in a 15x7 +35 15x8 +25 and a 15x9 +35. The 15x8 and 9 are custom fit and may require vehicle modification for fitment. These wheels are gravity cast with flow forming, producing a very strong, lightweight wheel. Enkei RPF1 is now offered in a 15x8 +28 for an aggressive track fit as well. Kosei K1 wheels are popular wheels for track use, too.

The best way to find guaranteed fits, is to search by year, make and model on the website.

For custom fitment, please call me to select the product. 1-800-428-8355 ext 4066.

Default Considerations for Summer Tires

Dedicated summer tires are much different than an a traditional all-season tire. Summer tires are just that, tires designed for summer use, or temps above 45deg. They provide excellent traction in the wet and dry while also proving excellent handling capabilities. All-season tires provide traction in a wide range of temps, provide traction in snow, good handling in the wet and dry. For some drivers, this is what they desire. For most, a summer-performance tire is best for summer months.

The three top performing Max Performance Summer tires are Michelin Pilot Super Sport, Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position, and the Continental Extreme Contact DW. The Michelin Pilot Super Sport is known for its excellent traction and ride quality, but the Bridgestone and Continental aren't too far behind. If wet weather traction is a concern, the Continental offers the best wet weather traction.

Some other Ultra-high Performance Summer tires to consider are the Dunlop Direzza DZ102, BFGoodrich g-Force Sport Comp2, and the Bridgestone RE760 Sport. In this Ultra-high performance summer tire category, the BFGoodrich g-Force Sport Comp2 stands out for its overall performance and aggressive price.

Track orientated enthusiasts are offered a wide range of tires from the Extreme Performance Summer Category that offer near race level traction. These tires also offer the ability to be used in day to day commuting.

Search by vehicle or search by size to find the tire for your car today.
