I've never powder costed my rims before. I've always painted them myself. It really depends on which brand paint you buy for your rims. If you buy the cheapy brand, then you might wanna repaint them every 4 months or so. Try to check into heat resistant paint or the actual paint for the rims. I bought some Duplicolor bronze for my rims and painted them recently. They look really nice and should last pretty long.

Re: (integra_dude)
i just painted my rims recently and painted them white with the duplicolor wheel paint. It came out soo good, i'd definately recommend it. I don't know how it compares to powder coating but so far, no chips or any sign of anything that would make me concern other than having to wash them more frequently now.

Bump for Duplicolor Wheel paint
I painted the inset areas with it and came out great. I didn't even use the clear wheel paint after, it would have been even glossier
Follow the directions, it is enamel paint not lacquer so there are certain windows for drying/ recoating times.

i painted my brothers 14'' steeleis... what he wanted to do was strip them first so i did... after stipped w/ aircraft remover came some wet sanding... after that drying them primer another period of wet sanding 2 more coats of primer, one short wet sanding... then finally the paint...2 layars of paint to about 1 nice wet sanding... after that... i put down the clear coat... & again about 2 coats to one wet sanding, exept for the final coat.. heavy on the clear... & boy... them ***** shine better than a new car... in the sun they sparkle like a star.... for the primer paint & clear my brother went to autozone & got the wheel paint all by duplicolor... now i am looking for some hx wheels so i can do for myself... who knows... maybe i found a new skill.... "rattle can painting"
