Default Refurbishing: JB Weld to fix surface damage ?

Thanks in advance for all input.

I have a few sets of rims I want to refurbish to brand new, none of them have any structural damage, only surface damage like a dig or two and minor curb rash. I have solved the minor surface and lip scratches with sanding but there are a couple deep surface gashes that will stick out like a sore thumb once repainted.

My concern is that I plan to fill these areas with JB Weld or epoxy and then reshape the surface to original condition. Any recommendations on material to do this fill would be appreciated. I figure JB Weld will hold perfectly even at any speed.

Also I originally intended to powdercoat them and concerned that the small JB welded areas may not take the powder properly. Unless anyone can tell me otherwise, I won't know till I try it... which is a royal PITA.

Lazy Eye Notes:

JB Weld to patch digs on rims ?
Does JB Weld conduct electricity ?

Cheers
